Littlehampton Bonfire Night not still going?

No parade or bonfire this year, unfortunately, due to insufficient volunteers and general apathy amongst the local population. Someone (possibly the visiting funfair, who would presumably have been financially invested in the event) sponsored some fireworks last Monday night by way of compensation. The hope is that sufficient volunteers will be spurred into action and step forward to help normal service resume next year. It has been a big part of the town's calendar for 50+ years, I think, so a real shame.
