If what you have said is definately true I'd go to the Sun and tell them the situation and that you can prove they were unjust because of CCTV footage, they will jump at this story especially as the Police are a hot topic in the news after this racist stuff.

Also they will probably help you legally to get another story. Also they might give you a few quid too.

IN LONDON MOST CCTV IS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MET. I THINK THE COUNCIL IS HOUNSLOW. YOU WILL NEED TO SPEAK TO LEGAL DEPARTMENT. BUT THEY MUST GIVE YOU A COPY OF THE TAPE. DOESN'T THE POLICE ALSO HAVE TO HAND OVER ALL FILM OF YOU AS WELL?

Yes, you will have to pay but they can not refuse. If any of you saw that wonderful Mark Steel show when he was on a demo and was being filmed you'd know what I mean. He walked around the corner from the film unit, walked up to the superintendant in charge, handed over £10 (I think) and a compleetd data protection form and demanded they give him a copy of the film. Priceless TV.

All the best mate, but please dont plead guilty if your not - the Met think they can get away with treating us all like crap and like the others said, this will hang over you for years if your found guilty.

All the best mate

My sentiments exactly. The way you have been treated is disgraceful. I know it sounds terrible, but what with the programme bbc showed on TV, your case may work in your favour.

Good luck, and try to keep smiling.:)

Would I be right in thinking that on the off-chance there is no film, that you could aim to get the charges dropped due to a lack of evidence?

Or am I being a bit slow (hangover has a second wind)?

Doubt it on that basis alone. It would then come down the magistrates asking is the copper telling the truth.

you MAY be able to get them on abuse of process, one of our 'lads' did recently in a very similar situation but again get advice on it.
