I am Cheshire's mate, the said 'hooligan' that got arrested at the Brentford game last night. Thank you all for the support and sympathy it is very much appreciated. I am absolutely f***ing appalled at the way i was treated, but dont get me wrong i am no angel but i am far from the supposed 'football thug' that i was made to feel like.
I was held in the cell for 15 hours, and treated like an animal. Im afraid that i know very little about all these little rules and regulations that you have all posted to help me, so therefore am gonna get stitched. I will probably plead guilty to the drunk and disorderly cos, to be honest i just wanna get it all over and done with, out of the way and i dont need this shit hanging over my head.
So the court visit is on friday and i have to go all the way to Feltham which if you didn't know is in Middlesex not far from Staines, isnt that nice, after being treated like that they rub salt in the wound and have my court appearance out in the sodding sticks!!! Wish me luck. Thank you and good night!!

The corner quietly rusting
Plead guilty only if you are guilty otherwise the conviction will be hanging over you for some time to come if you apply for jobs as you will have to disclose it for 5 years (assuming you get something less than 6 months imprisonment).

You will get asked, employers check you will get found out if you don't tell and if you don't tell you will get turned down by employers. (You won't necessarilly get turned down if you disclose, I as part of an interview panel today appointed someone who had a caution for possession of a herbal substance. they told us, it does not have anything to do with the job they will be doing, so long as they is telling the truth (IE its personal use not large quantities etc.) then all is well. Had they not told us, we would have found out we would not have appointed.

Pleading guilty will not get rid of it it will just keep it hanging around for several years.

What's the difference if you plead Not Guilty and they find you gulity anyway, compared to just pleading 'Guilty' straight-off?
Do you get a lesser fine?

IF YOU ARE NOT GUILTY

F u c k the plea. Go and get a legal interview immediately. If you can not do that when you get to court plead no guilty and ask to speak to the duty solicitor, it will not be held against you if you later change your plea on legal advice.

If you cop a plea the OB will almost certainly try to slap a banning order on you.

Once you have spoken to the legal/duty ask them to make your case.
DEMAND the CCTV footage, it WILL exist I assure you. Any pub near a footy ground is now blanketed. If necessary tell the court you intend to apply for it under the data protection act. It may cost you a few quid but a damn sight less than a ban and fine etc.

They can not refuse except on grounds of national security. If you appear on the CCTV as sober, non-staggering and non-aggressive you will stand a good chance that the charges will be dropped or they will offer a binding order. Once there it's your call but again TAKE ADVICE from the duty if necessary.

You also have thye right to have what is called a McKensies friend present with you - who is allowed to offer you advice.

It comes down to how much you feel this is worth to you.

All the best, the Met and Brentford in particular are wan kers.

But TAKE ADVICE, NOW.

Incidentally, been there done it. Not on footy related but other public orders.

Bound to be a hoolie if you're Cheshire's mate... He was always bad as a young lad, snapping crayons and breaking tables... It was only the other day i saw him kicking a bar stool across a crowded pub... Tut Tut Tut!

All joking aside... Good Luck!

Back again.

Contact the pub tonight, not tomorrow but NOW and get a FAX or text number off them. Find a way to fax or text a demand they save any CCTV footage taken inside the pub in case it may be required in legal proceedings. Tell them you are insisting on having it under data protectrion legisation and if necessary get an email address off them and mail them immediately demanding the footage.

Again, should they then delete the footage after you make the request they are commiting an offence and it will aid your defence case.

If you are innocent then don't let them get away with it.

If you haven't considered it then you can always file a complaint, supported by witnesses and whatever else you can get, against the arresting officer for something. I've had more than one case dropped that way.

Good grief, I sound like a right nutter don't I. I'm not really - Graham Dagless will tell you I'm nice really

Hope to meet several of you on Saturday. Till then be good and be lucky.:clap2:

There is loads of crap posted on NSC (most of it funny, admittedly), but occassionally, posts like readingstockport's and PC Plodster's (on the other related thread) prove what a fantastic site this is.

I hope anybody wrongfully charged sees readingstockport's advice, acts on it and manages to clear their name.

If it was that 5 foot nothing little **** with a chip on his shoulder there are enough of us who heard his remarks about having a bad night and also saw how fcuking aggressive he was towards us. He was definitely out to arrest somebody-fcuking Met Police wankers, tossers:tosser:

Aww shucks  .

I try to help and sometimes I hope I can.

Incidentally just went for a pee and had a thought. The CCTV outside the pub will probably be the local council.

First thing tomorrow then I guess contact them. The more you can show in court that you have tried to find evidence that you were innocent the better chance you will have. You can always not present after taking advice.

The other point is get all those arrested with you to do the same. The OB often run scared when faced with concerted opposition in case like these.

I say again - all the best chap.

And I'm not a nutter really.

Good luck mate!

I saw Cheshire on the train home, he told us everything that had happened, and it's sounds like you are going to be made a scapegoat. :nono:

would be interesting to know if that divison has published any "performance metrics" for 'anti-social behaviour arrests too' ...
Football crowds must be easy pickings ... I wonder what the experince of other away fans at Griffin park has been like this season, and if the number of people from visiting clubs appearing in court on D&D charges this year is significantly higher than in previous years?

If they are trumping this up, we should go to the next away game at Brentford, drink low alcohol lager for a couple of hours before the game and get someone to camcorder what happens when the police show up ...

Apologies

Alright folks, Bees fan here.

I've got to say I sympathise because the policing around Griffin Park has been getting way out of control in recent weeks.

There was a little trouble after the Sheffield Wednesday match a couple of weeks back and since then they have gone over the top.

On Tuesday night the cops closed a main road to stop us going near the away end (or, more accurately, home the quick way). We're not a club that gets a lot of trouble and I don't think you lot are too. Christ, if getting p*ssed before a game is an arrestable offence then half the crowd should have been locked up.

Anyway, contact the folk at the Griffin about CCTV (or get your lawyer to - you're entitled to free legal rep) - they're a decent lot and we usually have home and away fans drinking in there after a game so there shouldn't be a problem with them.

All the best.

I have to make a quick post to extend my own thanks to everyone on here that has offered help to Steve (aka 'stitched-up') over today. It's times like this NSC comes into it's own. I hope any of the other four who were also nicked are reading these pages.

That is really stupid - I think I saw you outside the ground saying you were being arrested.

Maybe the Met are on a bonus per arrests per game.

As I posted on an earlier thread I had to escort my son into the ground as a 15 year old was not deemed responsible ?

IN LONDON MOST CCTV IS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MET. I THINK THE COUNCIL IS HOUNSLOW. YOU WILL NEED TO SPEAK TO LEGAL DEPARTMENT. BUT THEY MUST GIVE YOU A COPY OF THE TAPE. DOESN'T THE POLICE ALSO HAVE TO HAND OVER ALL FILM OF YOU AS WELL?
