Yes - they wait until the last day. All contract offers during the window are accepted straightaway. Obviously sensible for a footballer to take the first offer, rather than waiting to see what he can get when the closing of the window is imminent. :jester:

I would scrap the window anyway - it is a restriction of trade and crap!

I'm surprised there hasn't been a legal challenge to it for that very reason. Unless there has of course and I missed it!

You can transfer a player at any time of the year. It's just that they cannot play for their new club until the 'transfer window' opens.
