Oh dear! My 5 are listed on another thread, but to re-iterate,we will never have heard of the signings/they will be cheap duds from elsewhere, rejects.and thats if we make any at all.

I disagree. Players go out on loan for all manner of reasons. Whilst they probably do not bleed BHAFC they have all manner of personal motivation which will hopefully see them do well and indirectly have our club at heart.

Andrew Whing being a good example. Loved it here while on loan, even though he was staying in a hotel and unsure of his future...if Cov would allow him to leave and could / would BHA make a proper move to sign him 'on a permanent'.

Anyone who is stupid enough to think we will sign 5 players just because DK said we were talking to 5 players and their agents shouldn't be allowed on the internet.

1 of those 5 i will assume will be Richards, so that leaves 4 others.

Actually DK clarified during his phone-in appearance that the 5 he was talking to were additional to Richards, who they were also waiting to hear back from.

I'm only hoping for one or two as this is realistic.

In a funny way I like the way the club chooses not to publicise it's targets as this would often lead to disappointment.

However that said I would like to think that we might try and "break the bank" for someone like Forbes who has obvious talent and saleability.

But the club does publicise its targets....once we fail to get them. DK regularly used to trot out a long list of players we were allegedly talking to who didnt want to come here for some reason or another.

3 at best i reckon not sure that they will be the well known players that Dick has led us to believe....Allowing for the Irish lad and all that..still think they will be last-day wonders

3 quality signings would do it for me.

Looks like DK is going to meet fans expectations. 2 signings in already and the fan expection is for 3. One more and surely everyone can then move onto criticising DK for overspending.

We seem to have made one excellent signing and one unknown quantity so far. If we can hold onto Hammond, bring in Richards, bring one other of the quality of Thomson and perhaps one loan player as cover, I'd say we have a decent chance of competing for the play-off places.

Big IFs though. And the squad as it stands is good enough for a mid-table finish, IMO

I am happy with the two signings so far...I am not expecting much from the Irish lad as he seems to have been playing at a very much lower standard to what we have at the moment, although the laddy from Falkirk seems a good aquisition.

Personally if I had a wish list,I would like to see an eastern european players or two brought in. We are looking at bums on seats and there is a untapped wealth of foreign workers over here at the moment......when we played Fulham in a friendly, there were hundreds of foriegn students in the crowd, who had come to watch Voltz .......just a thought

As you know Dave, I'm sure, this is a very specific policy at Southampton.
They have signed a series of Polish players - first the winger whose name I forget [Kowolski?], then Rasiak, the keeper Bartowski and finally Saganowski. They have done this because of the ernormous Polish community in Southampton and Eastleigh.

They have a Polish page in the matchday programme, and put out posters advertising the games plus local radio ads in Polish, to attract them in.

Fair play to them.

[Though personally I'd rather we signed a couple of Swedish players, in attempt to pack the ground with young Swedish language students!] Actually on a semi-serious note, there are hundreds of Chinese studying in the area - perhaps a Chinese player is the way forward!

......might as well give it a go as playing a load of Brighton lads to try and tap into the Brighton community doesnt seem to work.

Volz is a very much a cult figure though, not just any player. Still it may work...

I thought we'd get three, so I'm happy with the two we've got. My wishlist now would be:
Flinders
Richards
Currie (or another winger)
A striker
Hammond to sign

I don't ask for much. :ascarf:

im not over bothered about a goalkeeper coming in, i'd like to see Currie and Richards back here, but personally i think a striker is imperitive if we are to make the play offs.

I think we'll get 4 (the Irish kiddie, Richards, Thompson, Currie (oh please make it so)but the Thompson bloke looks an absolute bargain, we know Richards is the real deal and Currie...well, flair in abundance. I'd be very very happy with those.
