Tramps can be proper random. Wolverhampton's famous subway tramp sings the beatles, very badly. Paul McCartney would be turning in his grave, if he were dead.

Tramps in Tunbridge Wells are a better class of customer - one fifty-something gentleman of the street approached me and the missus on our visit there last week. He was attired in a mint condition retro West Ham shirt tucket into pressed chinos and smoking a fat cigar. When I pointed out that there was in fact only one team in the south he went off on a surreal rant about how he got his own back on his dad by getting to buy him the most expensive ice cream from the van that came up the street where they used to live, throwing in a mention of Southend United along the way.

Absolutely not.....technically you are giving them a job in entertainment and paying cash in hand!
Gives them a sense of worth being employed and you get the entertainment.
