He's about to make multi-£m's from selling the land to private student housing providers. Probably disinterested in bickering with the club on the level of rent.

Only if they can get planning permission

Does anyone know what the percentage of fans are spread across the county and beyond? I say because I wonder why there is a park and ride at Pyecombe just north of Brighton (surely further north would've been better Crawley, Pease Pottage or even Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill), but no park and ride to the west and east of Falmer, i.e. do we not have many fans here? I understand today there were no trains along the south coast so surely a park and ride at least west of the city would've helped a lot, Shoreham airport? I know someone coming from Pevensey and he isnt looking forward to finding a car park space in Lewes and says they should've used the services at Polegate. Anyway just curious to know how many fans we have in different parts of the county.

I think they may well. The smaller one was squeezed in by Falmer Station. I know someone who recently got permission for another one further down the Lewes Road, there are specialist developers/providers who then buy the land. Posh student flats with gyms, 24-7 staff, etc.

Probably as much about available sites and buses as it is about geography. I guess the idea of Pyecombe is to take pressure off Mill Road.

Surprised they couldn't get West Hove Sainsbury's this time tbh.

I was talking to someone I know coming from Pevensey and he said use the Polegate services and for the North the car park at the leisure centre in Burgess Hill is big it also has a large industrial estate so maybe land there they can use and west of the City I suggested Shoreham Airport but I agree it needs something be it Sainsburys or somewhere else.

I have been to that leisure centre on a Saturday afternoon and it gets rammed. Can't speak for Polegate services but could it really be used for several hundred cars?

I'm very disappointed Paul Barber isn't picking me up personally.

Im unsure depends where I am Friday and heading Saturday evening. I may be at Littlehampton then be going to Haywards Heath. Im exploring all sorts of options. Its a real pain. I may have to get a Taxi back but from the Amex is a no go so the shuttle bus looks likely but i cant imagine how long the queues will be. My friend from Pevensey is still on a crutch so 'jumped'the queue back to Lewes but I guess thats not a done thing on the busses. He did mention taking his fishing stool that folds up and I actually think it will fit an A4 bag could be interesting.

I agree, Mr. Bennet is a shrewd operator, why would he turn down all this dosh he could have been earning from the Albion on match days for a cosiderable time now, unless he thought there was an excellent chance of getting his application past the planning process?

May not be that shrewd if he needs access through the clubs land.

Can’t see how that will easily be achieved

You seem to be treating tthis like a military operation! As others have said, you may need to be patient,

The club havebeen faced with these sort of difficulties before, and coped.

Will be insufficient space at the Triangle Leisure centre as always rammed at the weekend. It’s already used as a pick up point for Seagulls Travel

Indeed, the poster seems almost under the impression that all the club needs to do is click it's fingers, and sites automatically become available to them

In the real world it doesn't work like that.

I was thinking more about what the council would do if they got 30k+ objection letters.
