Trains post match

Morning all,

Does anyone know, or have experience of trains back to B'town after the game? I've usually decamped to the pub via the buses post match. I remember there being football specials in the early days of Withdean, but NRE doesn't seem to list anything apart from the FCC 'train' about 1710.

The reason I ask is that I've booked myself on the 1719 to Victoria from Brighton and I'm starting to wonder, with the benefit of hindsight, whether this was a dick move on my part, epecially if I'm putting faith in First Crapital Disconnected!

Cheers folks.

There is one that leaves Preston Park at 5.11, but that's probably cutting it a bit fine to get to Brighton and change in time. Do you need to book on a train to Vic? they run all the time.

Not sure if this helps but I don't think you can book yourself onto a specific train from brighton to London. It may appear that way on your ticket but you can actually get any train.

Hope you're right Notters, but I thought the point of Southern's advance tickets was that you had to travel on a particular train. I know they don't do physical reservations, but you normally get another 'ticket' with your train details on it.

I usually get the 17:18 to Littlehampton back to Hove, usually pitching up at PP after the game about 17:08 and the FCC Train usually arrives after I do.

You have two hopes one is hurling yourself at the 17.19 as it passes through Preston Park and hoping by some miracle you end up inside it Rent a Ghost style. The other is Bob! Unless you leave early and get a bus a cab!

Cheers Tim, I feared that might be the case!
