If you're subscribed to the Sky fixtures calendar, and turn your phone off and then on again, it comes up as Sat 6th April 15:00 - 17:00 Manchester City v Brighton Wembley Stadium.

It won't be a 3pm as that will clash with Premier League fixtures. It will be 5:15 or 5:30.

I agree with you completely, with the exception that it won't be 35k using the train and it isn't down to Southern.

You wouldn't blame the bus company for the road being dug up and it is pretty much the same thing here. I could get on to the point that these works benefit a lot more than just the few thousand football fans that want to travel once a year but I won't.

2 hour journey via Littlehampton which I am hoping will be strengthened to be more frequent and as many buses as possible from Brighton to Three Bridges.

Yep. But given that they coped relatively well with the weekday 300,000 commuters on that line for a whole week recently with the line to Three Bridges completely shut , then i imagine they'll be ok.
