The club has resubmitted plans for the new state-of-the-art training facility at Lancing, in order to address issues raised by the local residents and Lancing Parish Council.
The Seagulls submitted the new plans to Adur District Council, and a planning decision is expected at some point in the late summer or early autumn.
Albion director Martin Perry, who is overseeing the project, said, "On the whole the residents of Lancing have been very supportive, and they want to welcome the Albion to the area.
"It's great to have that level of support, and people are keen to see the social and economic benefits the facility will bring to the local community.
"However, through the planning consultation process, residents have raised some issues, and the revised application has been designed to address these issues.
"During the construction phase, we have now indicated that our preferred route for construction traffic will be through the land being developed for a golf course, which means the lorries going on and coming off the site won't impact the Mash Barn Estate.
"We have also moved the refuse and waste store to the opposite side of the site, closer to the airport and further away from the residents, and we have added acoustic fencing to minimise any noise from the site.
"We want to be good neighbours, just as we have been at the Amex, and it is important to us that we have a good rapport with the local community. We hope this shows we are prepared to listen to the local community and address issues that they raise."

Great stuff I do feel this is the one thing that might still hold us back. The stadium is premier league quality all we need now is the training facilities that match it.

Not sure training at a 1960s university sports field is quite the proposition to persuade some of the players rumours suggest to sign for us.

We're going to be producing our very own Oxlade-Chamberlains and Leon Knights before the year is out! Yay!

That's already more, than the company who built the incinerator in Newhaven did. Thumbs up to the club for listening to the residents concerns. I will tell you what the residents of Newhaven got for that smoking pile of shit, a mini roundabout lol.

Its great, those residents will now instead of continued views across open field/grass, will now have an 'acoustic fence', I do hope it is an ugly fence..... :D:D

Took 7/8 years for us to really start producing at Derby, obv it's a real positive for the club, but don't expect academy products coming through overnight!

Although I totally accept that facilities are important to prompt players to sign for us, it offers an insight into a clubs ambition etc.

But ultimately its people.

Individuals that are totally committed to understanding and developing the young talent that comes their way, supporting, cajoling, celebrating their successes, whilst tweaking their weaknesses.

It needs a club that is committed too, a manager that really feels an empathy towards those youngsters performing at under 16's, youth and at the development squad.

So yes give me a shiny new training ground, but to have any relevance you need good people, very very good people.

I would be interested to compare the Derby plan (on old farmland) with the New Monks Farm plan. The Albion plan has now been tweeked and sent in to the Planning office but it remains more or less the same (although I have not seen it).

I would be inclined to buy out the private land allocated for Golf Course and tweek it further.

Maybe the reason it remains more or less the same is because it is more or less perfect for purpose?

Less or more. In the confines of the Council land (by the brief) but the pitches are too close together. With more land it would be better. The higher class Academy standards (which will only be possible with Premier League football).

As the Golf Course is going to fail (if ever constructed), it could be done later. But that is piecemeal which is sometimes not quite so good ???

In what sense, the actual plan for the original building, am sure I can find it somewhere.... Comparisons are difficult with Derby as there's a lot more space up there!

Exactly, but there is more space at New Monks Farm and it is probably available.

What is your obsession with this issue? I don't get its relevance, and I certainly don't see where your technical knowledge in this area comes from that seemingly flies in the face of the clubs football and planning gurus.

I would love to know your qualifications + experience in developing training grounds, as clearly it bests Martin Perry, KSS and all the other consultants with years of developing football facilities Albion have on board.

This was the first plan. Basically, it is the same.

The land up to the north east corner of the plan is already used by dumping trucks so this would be most rational entry point for construction vehicles. Entrance is via the Withy Gap (not the road on the map). It does mean that must be some dialogue with the land owners, so I thought they could be more scope for improvement ???

Hopefully the revisions will also address the concerns from the National Park - weren't they questioning the loss of a green gap between the rolling vistas of Lancing and the airport, and secondly the impact of floodlighting?
