I would see this as a prudent move to ensure that planning permission is granted in September thus only causing a minimal delay rather than have it drag on for ages and be sorted before MP retires
It is the sale of public land that is the issue. Planning Permission should not be a major problem (difficulties to iron out). There is an area of private land that could be purchased. Easier than signing a footballer I would have thought.
How does that fall into MP statement that they have spoken with locals and have taken on board their views?
Perry is involved, expect it some time 2024.
The prevailing view is that with such a massive area of land why does it have to be built on the land near the houses owned by the Council when there is all the other land?
There are reasons.
It is by far the best soil and land because it is flat alluvium whereas the other land has been dumped on.
The advantages of the other land it could be cheaper (?), the owners can get out of creating a golf course (?) and there is more privacy and mores space (two important considerations).
Property interests rule in the UK and it is the land owners that call the tune. In poker terms they hold the strongest hand.
What a load of old twaddle.
Seagulls and Adur continue discussions
Adur District Council and Brighton & Hove Albion are having further discussions this month (June) about the club's proposals to build a training facility on Mash Barn land. These discussions follow revised plans after the council asked the Seagulls to complete an environmental impact assessment report and address concerns over parking and the impact of floodlights.
Once these new plans are submitted, there will be a 28 day consultation period.
Comment: this makes sense as the people nearby have complained about the intrusion and the Planning Committee asked the Albion for more details.
