I would see this as a prudent move to ensure that planning permission is granted in September thus only causing a minimal delay rather than have it drag on for ages and be sorted before MP retires

It is the sale of public land that is the issue. Planning Permission should not be a major problem (difficulties to iron out). There is an area of private land that could be purchased. Easier than signing a footballer I would have thought.

How does that fall into MP statement that they have spoken with locals and have taken on board their views?

The prevailing view is that with such a massive area of land why does it have to be built on the land near the houses owned by the Council when there is all the other land?

There are reasons.

It is by far the best soil and land because it is flat alluvium whereas the other land has been dumped on.

The advantages of the other land it could be cheaper (?), the owners can get out of creating a golf course (?) and there is more privacy and mores space (two important considerations).

Property interests rule in the UK and it is the land owners that call the tune. In poker terms they hold the strongest hand.

What a load of old twaddle.

What a load of old twaddle.

Look at who posted it, he hasn't a clue, struggles to form coherent sentences and talks absolute nonsense that he's made up in his own mind to present as fact. Look at his past history especially during the public enquiry stages of the Falmer application.

There is local opposition and they do have some concerns that need to be addressed. It is not clear if the delay is down to a redesign of the original proposal, or if there are negotiations going on in the background to acquire the adjacent land. Either way it seems sewage and waste disposal needs to be moved away from the nearby houses.

The pitches look too close to each other. If some private land could be acquired they could be spaced out.

I expect this plan will just be tinkered with though.

The plan was originally for a 18 course Golf Course but the land owners have indicated that they now want a 9 hole Golf Course.

Seagulls and Adur continue discussions
Adur District Council and Brighton & Hove Albion are having further discussions this month (June) about the club's proposals to build a training facility on Mash Barn land. These discussions follow revised plans after the council asked the Seagulls to complete an environmental impact assessment report and address concerns over parking and the impact of floodlights.

Once these new plans are submitted, there will be a 28 day consultation period.

Comment: this makes sense as the people nearby have complained about the intrusion and the Planning Committee asked the Albion for more details.

A REVISED planning application for Brighton and Hove Albion’s proposed training ground in Lancing has been approved by the parish council.

Among the changes are a revised route for construction traffic through the golf course on the A27 and acoustic fencing.

Residents spoke of their frustration after the meeting.
