Any idea why they suddenly decided they needed more pitches? Still think it's odd that the indoor pitch is only half-sized.

The club DID want them to start with, but the land wasn't available at the time. It is now.

I did some updates on Twitter, but the signal wasn't the best to update here.

To outline...

The new pitches will be raised about 1.5m so no flooding will occur.
The main (and only) concern was the flooding risk.
There will be a water tank under one of the pitches that the rain water will drain into.
This water will then be used for irrigation.
During prolonged rain, the tanks can expel water at a controlled rate toward the river and other drainage.
Any water from the buildings will be treated, then stored.

Apparantly FL and PL rules say that all the club's teams should be based on the same site, hence so many pitches.

Before the new pitches can be used, the community use agreement should be changed. MP said that any changes to this will be above and beyond the current agreement.

A full-sized one wouldn't fit :jester:

Are those caravans in the picture at '9 o'clock', the ones tucked just back from the fly-over, before the German car garage, Autobahn?

No, the site is nowhere near Withy Patch.

It looks like the buildings near the railway line.

Does anybody know if, once it has been completed, that any sort of tour will be available like the stadium tour? I can't imagine so, but I would love to have a look round.

I predict that some pitches will be in use during this autumn even though the buildings wont be ready for another year. Gus is always having a go about the facilities at the Uni, so they'll train on the new pitches at the earliest possible moment. Maybe a temporary portacabin?

If we happened to make it to the Premier League I can't see many players being interested in training at the University. I would imagine that privacy is paramount to.

I thought it was simply leaving her a path giving access to her horses.

We can use her horse shit on one of our training pitches to get us acclimatise to play against the Palace away as they keep there horses on Selhurst to keep the grass short and to tow the caravans:ffsparr:
