Thanks for the link. Looking at the plan they aren't proposing to to build a mini stadium or expand the site at all. Instead they want to extend their main building, replace some existing portacabins with proper buildings, reorganise the existing pitches to make better use of space and put in a small bank of seats for parents/spectators to watch matches on the community pitch. Nothing drastic at all really, just making better use of their existing space. Where the U23s usually play isn't even featured in the plans so definitely not getting a bigger stadium.

When does a ‘stadium at the training ground’ cease to be considered ‘training ground’ and become a ‘stadium’?

Man City’s academy stadium is considered acceptable, obviously.

(It’s not AT their training ground, though)

These are the relevant rules from the Premier League 2 Handbook this season:-

Given that the capacity at "Academy Stadium" is greater than that at the People's Pension Stadium, I guess it would be difficult to argue that City are somehow receiving special treatment.

Cheers for that, just had a good nosey thought them all :albion2:

On a similar subject does anyone know what’s happened to the Hotel plans for the ground?

Abandoned. The club made it clear, if the council didn't accept the plans as they were, it wouldn't apply again.

The £22m investment will provide a much larger 2 storey elite academy/training building, an elite women training centre, the stand is being replaced elsewhere in the site and three additional pitches.

After and before map plans:

TB providing world class facilities for the club’s players of all ages.

That's a shame. I was hoping that they would build a mini stadium so that the womens' team could play there (a mini Man City training stadium if you like)

Looking at the before and after posted by Weststander it seems they are actually expanding the site a bit down in the south east corner, which is marked as North Barn Farm on before, and the building there has already been knocked down in preparation. Just squaring off the site by doing that. Noticed the building had gone while passing by on the train recently.

That’s exactly right. The barn wasn’t listed. The new viewing pitch will have a new stand for 500, with the stand built a couple of years ago removed, to be replaced by 3 new pitches and the Elite Womens Centre.
