North Stand highpoint for me was the chanting directed at Holloway just after half time. To his credit he seemed to take it well.

Holloway is a decent bloke. Always cheerful, not as stupid as many make him out to be, and totally dedicated to his family. He has three profoundly deaf daughters, his wife has had cancer, but he never plays the victim card.

Thought the judge and the group under the big screen were superb last night.

I was central and hardly heard the 'Police Box Crew'

From my perch in WSU there were some good moments when a decent chant from the North centre got going well despite the best efforts of the muppet show.

Sigh... this one again.

From where I was sitting they were the only ones who sang and shouted consistently throughout the whole game. They also started several of the songs that carried on through the whole ground and by contrast the rest of the North Stand was quiet. As usual I heard f'all being started from WSU.

I suggest if it bothers you that much that someone else is having a good time and trying to get an atmosphere going you go and join the rest of the more senior fans over in the East Upper.

Again, the weird acoustics at the Amex are partly to blame. From the East stand, the middle of the north was all that could be heard for the majority of the game. I was very impressed as a LOT of people were keeping it going. The police box lot may have been making a noise but we couldn't hear it at all. Could see them 'dancing' though lol!

Anyway credit to anyone who tries to make the atmosphere better, it was significantly better last night.

He's a bit of a football treasure really. I'm more than happy when he pops up on the box. Always good value.

.

'Through the whole ground'

An exaggeration at best or from my seat a complete fabrication of the actual facts. At no time before during or after the game did such events occur and for the benefit of doubt I am not deaf.

Also, for the first at the Amex, the odd lot on the west side of the north doing the somewhat 'madchester' (i.e., very dated, 15 years ago, away at Rotherham, etc.) 'lets go ****ing mental' nonsense. If I want to go ****ing mental I'll go and see 'My Bloody Valentine'

But then again, I am old :mad::rolleyes::wozza:

I was jumping around to that over twenty years ago and again last night. Absolutely brilliant.

What exactly is the definition of "through the whole ground?"

Completely with you there, I like anyone involved in the game that doesn't treat it like it's the be all and end all and he definitely fits the bill.

I met Holloway once mid 80s at a Camberley v Brentford friendly,a mate of mine a Bristol Rovers fan approached him to say hi and we ended up chatting for 30mins and he was indeed a top bloke.
