I stayed chatting pitchside …..until seats were as good as empty……visited the toilets etc ….then strolled down to get past the queues to the Bridge carpark..and it was awful….longtime since I’ve seen it that bad

Only second time I’ve seen that car park.

The obvious issue is that the traffic light sequence lets out bugger all cars at a time, then stays red for minutes.

Can these things be manually adjusted for events?

I knew it was likely to be bad, but have never seen it that bad. I’m not complaining, just reporting in from the field. Went to support my team, a little patience is all it took!
I’d say it’s been as bad tonight probably as on dozens of other occasions, we just forget. Unfortunately the Amex has a reputation, especially for evening games. Hence the ‘predictable’ assertion and why many fans knowingly skip now, especially if longer journeys. Transport just too predictably bad. Glad you’re able to get to and from tonight regardless, even though bad.

I just feel really sorry for all the fans that missed the KO because of the disruption with the trains. It's really difficult for an evening KO which is why whilst I wish Palace lose every game by them winning at Villa we play Palace Sunday 2pm and there are trains planned to run that day. It avoids a Monday evening 8pm which although I'd rather it was as planned 3pm Saturday I kinda knew that was unlikely to ever be the case. What then sits uncomfortable is they get a special speedy train back to the slums of Croydon.

Impossible. I mean it’s not. Just impossible for anyone in authority to do something about getting the lights switched to reflect the heavier direction of flow before and after matches at all sets around the Amex. And the reason for that is they just don’t care. Or care enough. Since 2011…

First time with a bike, after final whistle I walked past the colossal queue for trains. Noticeable that many folk furtively skipped possibly 1000’s, then queue jumped just before the barriers start.

Surprised that no one says anything!
I think this must be rare (at least I would hope so) because the stewards are normally very hot on this looking out for exactly this.

It was before the stewards who were based along the barriers. In the vast maelstrom before then.
I almost always get the train from / back to Brighton. This only happens mid week but it happens almost every mid week game.

Once the queue gets past the barriers it’s a free for all. People spread out wider than the queue lane but also leave gaps. Always a few opportunists who notice when people aren’t moving up. People not moving up are normally tourists, off their nut or glued to their phone.

I’d also add into the factor that some fans ask their significant others to meet them either on or around the bridge over yhe A27. They park illegally and block the road for fans that have paid £18 to legitimately get to and from the ground. Thoose that do this are (and I apologise in advance for using such language) complete ****s.

Annoying that a group of 10 stewards were bunkered under a tree doing nothing. I can only assume that it is a police matter and not in their durastruction.

The stadium is hard to get to and from. But parking selfishly to impact others is just scummy.

I thought the old coke/booze combo and British belligerence might lead to words being said?

Me too! Think I shall be doing this more often. I can see though if you leave it too late there might not be space to park at the decent bike racks.
