Fire at lap-dancing club

A MAJOR fire broke out in a lap-dancing club this morning.

About 100 firefighters were called just before 2am to help tackle the blaze at Redd in the Martlets shopping centre in Burgess Hill.

Crews came from as far away as Bexhill and Reigate to support the operation.

The first-floor club, which opened last month but was closed when the fire started, was destroyed.

Water from firefighters' hoses damaged Pulse nightclub and another shop on the ground floor.

By 7.30am the fire was under control, but small fires were continuing to break out.

No-one was injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Access to the shopping centre car park was expected to be restricted for most of the day.

A West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the operation would be scaled down as the morning progressed.

Something you would expect the arsonist to say. I always knew you were a moral crusader, Les.

I find it shocking that in this day and age you can go to a lapdance club and not even get an eyeful of muff. Burn it down I say

its part of a large(ish) chain of clubs. cant see why as it was apparantly quite busy up until now and has been getting alot of free press in the papers from reasons states above

Apparently it only required twenty firefighters, but when they heard where it was, they all jumped straight out of bed
