Sorry if already posted

I am told by my folks who live in Patcham that there are temp. traffic
lights (one-way) at the bottom of Coldean lane near the Hiker's (and that
this has caused a few probs on a normal day).

Does anyone know if this is still ongoing?

Yes it is. There are temp traffic lights on Coldean Lane and Lewes Road in both directions.

The filter lane coming from the Lewes onto Coldean Lane is closed, plus there is no filter light onto Coldean Lane coming from town.

Will cause problems again for those going to the Amex/P&R using Coldean Lane, and also getting away post match.

Yep. Ruddy nightmare at times too.

That sounds a right pain :(

What's the traffic like if you stay on the A27 beyond the Coldean Lane turning, and loop back to get to the Uni/Stanmer Park road from the West? If that's possible?

Would probably still be fairly busy, if not quite as bad. Get to the stadium in good time, I'd suggest.

I think it's ok and that's what I'm planning on doing tomorrow. Go around the Kingston roundabout and head back and I'm told the turning into the uni/park coming west is fairly clear and trouble free.

Roadworks suspended for the weekend, Coldean Lane back to 2 lanes. Still 1 lane out east and westbound on Lewes Road.

Should be OK for arriving, but will be hard work getting away.

The worst delays at the Coldean Lane junction have occurred when Coldean Lane itself has been reduced to one open lane only, regulated by temporary traffic signals. That hasn't been the case in recent days, and - as of now - the junction is working better. But, as Postman Pat says, the loss of a lane (in each direction) on Lewes Road is slowing things down a bit.

I estimate that the need at the moment is to allow an extra five minutes for journeys when traffic is busy. A couple of weeks ago, turns into and out of Coldean Lane needed an extra 10-15 minutes.

I'd guess it depends on the time of day, weather conditions and all the rest, but for the Ipswich game the time from A27 to A270 took a lot longer than an extra 15 minutes more than other times.

Just when do these lights cease to be temporary?

These roadworks started before the season, and it's hardly major stuff.
