Is there a more fantastic sight in football than a good old bar scarf?

I love it when people whirl them above their heads.

Everyone should bring one and do it for a game. Remember the scarf game we had against Millwall at Withdean, we should do that again at The Amex, well maybe not the same result though

ps, I'm in 1901 tomorrow, are we allowed to wear one there?

It has to be knitted. Preferably by mother, aunt or grandmother. And be in slightly the wrong shade of blue. Then it is a proper football scarf.

You're right of course, and you make me ashamed of my cashmere blue and white stripy scarf. Its colour is a bit Argentinian too. But having said that it is very comfortable, not at all itchy and I just wish the the shop would see fit to sell such things. At about £30 they would make nail-on presents.

It used to be done all the time around 1983 at The Goldstone, especially when singing along to 'We Are Brighton, Super Brighton...'

Pretty much the entire North Stand with their 'helicopter scarves'... :)

Tony Bloom always has what looks like the biggest, newest, cleanest blue-and-white bar scarf ever on.

Or perhaps it just looks big compared to him.

He probably has a stockpile - A new one for each game. Unlike mine that is starting to look a bit 'worn'.

I have an old knitted one that was a Christmas Present circa 1970 from my Grandma. It still has an airing occasionally. In those days it swamped me. These days....it doesn't.

That reminds me. Savile Rogue contacted me about giving a free cashmere blue and white scarf for us to give away in a competition or something. I forgot to get back to them.
