I usually use Nat West Stockbrokers Online for trading, but the purchase and sale prices seem to get biased more and more towards the wrong end of Bid and Offer prices, anyone use any other methods and do you have the costs, NatWest is £15.

The part that worries me is the trade price doesn't really matter, if one broker, say NatWest, complete every trade just .25% less or more than you would expect they stand to make a stack of cash? Or am I being niave?

Is anyone a broker that could give advice on the way in which you can make sure you are getting a fair ACTUAL trade price, i.e. the best price Nat West or anyone else can buy thoise shares for? Where's Attilla?

not at all naive. they will skim something on the spreads if they can. but the listed prices are often those available in the market to the big boys buying big lots. maybe your size of trade isnt available in the market for the better price.

I use NatWest Stockbrokers online, and have never noticed this being a problem. I will have a closer look next time I deal.

Otherwise, I do like the service.

You're right it is a good service, my concern is I am doing reasonable trades but seem to get much closer to the bid than the offer consistently, whereas others have said it "should" be about the middle of the range both ways.

Agreed - with the size of trades I assume we're talking abut here, you are not going to get the best price in the markets. If you're trading £10m worth at a time then you would do - it's just a shot in the dark but I suspect we're talking smaller sizes than this ?

When I was working in the equity market, admitedly only in IT, and it was a few years ago, but a "small" size traded in a single deal was £25m.

Yep, I think we could safely put these trades in the micro stage if £25m is small!
