You would not survive without ask giving you specs for jobs, meaning that we own you. Fact.
Ha! See what I mean about inventing your own language... :D

But marketing people are not capable of giving specs. They just say, 'oooh, make it look nice - any size will do. What Pantone colour do we use on a CMYK job?' TRIPLE FACT.

:p :p :p

Pantone Numbers one of the biggest pains ever, that and corporate guidlines that you arty farty designers seem incapable of adhering to.

Eh? It's the designers who come up with the corporate guidelines. And I have NEVER missed a deadline that marketing people didn't fanny about with. :)

Barnet: Hallelujah! Marketing people are not creative. They're AUTOMATONS who don't - can't - listen. :D

It is normally the designers fault for not reading the spec or claiming they are too busy....

" You're crushing my creativity"
" No I'm not,I wanted a garden pond and you re-designed the hanging gardens of babylon you leeching bastard..."

I detest City Traders ( apart from Lokki who is the exception to the rule) They are all overpaid shitemeisters

I am a GRAPHIC designer, who always *ahem* follows a brief, howver barmy. You are quite right about garden designers / interior designers / architects, though Dave. They are just plain bonkers...

People who work in DIY stores and Comet/Curry's for me. Particularly when you ask them a question and they just read the packaging on the product to you.

Oh, and a pantone is a number that refers to a colour shade, like when you choose whether to have magnolia or pale daffodil dulux paint from the cards in the paint shop. We have books and books of them (I'm in the rag trade) but no doubt the graphic designers have some "database".
