I saw The Jam over 20 times live, they were a massive part of my formative years. Also remember being at the last concert at the BC and lowering myself down from the circle to the main auditorium…. Can’t see myself doing that again anytime soon!
Loved the all the albums, soft spot for Setting Sons and little boy soldiers and an A bomb in Watford st, but on your list has to down the tube…
However even after all these years I have nothing but contempt for PW who destroyed the dream. Also had tickets for From the Jam in Norwich but simply couldn’t go… funny how things mark you for a lifetime

Had to share this. I’ve been a PW fan since early Jam days.
My 2 sons band “Barbara” have been asked to support him on his current UK tour. Southend last night, Leicester tonight.
It’s all a bit unreal but fabulous!

There are thousands who refuse to see past their teens, some still spitting chips about the Jam splitting up when oasis peaked ('94) and rate them as a viable alternative! . . . The irony is they still go to Weller gigs and shout out for Jam songs.

The Jam
I was expecting abuse but actually that's a fair comment! :lolol:

I suppose we all settle down (read 'get a bit boring') as we get older, and also he did set such a high bar for himself.
Indeed he did . . . . Lyrically at least . . . Musically, his band with Steve White, peaked around 95, WIld Wood and Stanley Road are better than anything the Jam ever did. Musically the Style council were better than the Jam!

The one thing Weller has done, is be true to himself . . .kept moving and changing . .not everything is amazing, but at least he isn't down Madeira drive with a union jack parka on a rev n go scooter with all the other plastic 7 n6's Doing the same boring shit year after year.

I think this is what you call a 'proud dad moment' enjoy!

And well done, top Dadding!
