Fati should have scored but unsurprisingly looked rusty. Good to see Mitoma back and a real outlet with speed and skill up the pitch. WBG excellent. Pervis awful almost all game..played with strapping on so not convinced he’s 100% fit yet. Maddison is a thin skinned tool, from the same unpleasant ratty gene pool that Vardy crawled from.
You shouldn’t look “rusty” from 6 yards out !

Does anyone know what happened to Dunk? The commentators said something along the lines of... it looked like he was winded or struggling to breathe. My gentle flow of water didn't show what happened.

From the radio commentary it sounded like he had an arm across his windpipe, quite heavily.

Great. Gonna have to hear the massively irritating Spurs media fans creaming themselves over ‘Ange’ for the next week. He’s just a f***ing annoying football manager, not your best f***ing mate.

They all think they’re massive when they’re just a noddy club who’ve won f*** all for decades and cheating bastards to boot.

This might be un unpopular statement but I think Fati isn’t that good and Bunonaotte is like a spoilt brat, diving and generally getting on my nerves.

Let’s no go The ‘Italia was the ref/Lino’s fault, that’s lazy thinking.

Superb game but we got beat. We’ll do sheff Utd next week 😉
He was hailed as the new Messi once upon a time.

He's scored a couple of good goals for us, and is just coming back after a lay off, so will need a little time to get fully sharp again.

That said, and accepting he's still young, I haven't personally seen anything yet that suggests he would be a regular starter in a Barcelona first team??

I wouldn't be surprised if he were available to buy in summer or if we went in for him (assuming RDZ stays)?

Brighton assistant manager Andrea Maldera, speaking to BBC MOTD: "Sorry for my voice but I lost it in the match.

"We are disappointed. When you lose a match in the last 10 seconds it is disappointing but we played a good match.

"I'm disappointed for the players because they gave everything, a big heart, big soul and with big quality but this is football and we have to accept the result.

"It's important always to play with courage and pride.

"We have our style, we know what the risks are and Tottenham are a good team, they pressed our midfield and centre backs.

"We had chances but if we don't score it can always go the other way."

On communicating with Roberto de Zerbi: "He was always in contact with the bench. He asked about the substitutions. It's not easy because as you speak the game keeps going. I spoke with Roberto a lot and he suffered with us.

"Roberto probably from tomorrow will be in Brighton. He will come to England and I want to tell our fans that he is good and has no problems.

"He should be on the bench for the next game and I hope so because I lost my voice. I love my job but it's better that Roberto comes."

Poor game management at then end. Not sure why we are committing so many player Fforward in the dying seconds of an away match.
Trying to win it.
JPVH was incredible although I think him out of position was part of the reason for their first. Also, how on earth are we so open for their winner? They played that incisevely though which we don't seem to be able to do as much this season.
There was about three moments when it was crying out for a quick through ball for someone already running - but we checked back.

Ref did give more decisions to the home team. However, quite rightly gave us a penalty. It was nothing like last year. The reason we lost was not down to a ref or lino. Game could have gone either way. When you play like we do it will happen sometimes.
Agree. Didn't think much of the ref - should definitely have started booking them earlier, and let a lot go. But not their fault that we lost that game today.

Gutted, not least because I spent the afternoon in the pub with my Spurs supporting mate.

A few winnable league games coming up before City. Win them and today will be forgotten.

And at Sheffield Utd the ref let the game flow thereby earning his own thread on NSC full of gushing praise. Meanwhile their fans took the opposite view on his performance.
There's letting the game flow and there's not giving warranted yellows. Ref doesn't have to stop play to issue a card.

My issue with the ref was not that he whistled for fouls but that he refused to punish clear Spurs yellow card offences (even borderline red for Romero's off-the-ball assault on Gross) with yellow cards. Yet he booked Dunk when he won the ball against the Brazilian twat, and booked Buanonotte for a nothing foul.
Surely he saw Maddison clapping sarcastically when Spurs finally got a yellow? That's clearly dissent.

And thankfully we play like this. Rather than like Everton who just seem to want to make life difficult for the opposition.
Some you win and some you lose if you go for it, like we do. Disappointing but proud that we play the way we do.spurs are an attacking team too.
