If you are correct in your theory then explain why Ivan Toney, Mitrovic and all the big scorers in the championship struggle in the PL. It’s a totally different beast IMO.
But they have proven themselves to be absolutely top-level Championship players.
Until Bielsa made him, Bamford was in the same bracket.
Solly would improve any Championship team and they'd be lucky to have him.
So the terms "Championship " or "Premier League" quality are very broad terms, that don't relate to a genuine benchmark of quality.
It's just a snide term to throw at a player.
What is really meant is that a lower-mid Premier league squad player, is their level and they are unlikely to push on from that.
Not that they aren't good enough to play in the premier league,
