I'm sure that's tough for you, but are you really making a comparison between being a month away from not being able to pay your mortgage to not being able to eat? If you haven't got enough held back to pay more than 1 month of mortgage payment then that is difficult but your debt is self incurred in a mission to buy a house. These are people that are in dire straits.

It's still missing the point though, a lot of people hate the tories because they systematically and knowingly see people in to poverty while feathering the nests of their bretheren and making sure that their mates can romp about the countryside in silly outfits drinking brandy.

What?

Every Tory MP ??

A bit extremist methinks. And of course every Labour MP wants to tax anyone earning over £80k to pay for all sorts of welfare benefits, massively increase NHS/Education budgets/ increase the police force and get rid of Trident? :)

I reckon we are seeing this 'Tory Hate' coming more to the surface amongst the Shouty Left on NSC, because there is no credible opposition in the country. In their hearts, they must realise that Corbyn, McDonnell, Abbott etc. have f---ed up the Labour Party, well and good. These far left individuals only appeal to the far left in the country and thankfully there aren't enough of them around to gain power and instead of just f----ng up just the Labour Party, f---k up the country.
I shall be very interested to see what happens post election, assuming Labour fare very badly. Will Corbyn stay, will he get removed or resign or will there be an almighty breakaway of sensible and moderate Labour MP's?
In the meantime, 'The Shouties' will continue to rant and foam at the mouth and blame the Tories for everything that they possibly can, justified or not.

Yes. We have seen how the far left behave when they do not get their own way. Damage property etc, daub monuments, then complain when taxes go up to clean up their mess and police their strops.

It's coming from people who have voted Tory most of their lives too. It isn't just the shouty left either, I think those political centrists, the ones who may have swung between a Blairite centrist Labour, and a softer coalition centrist Tory party don't know where to turn between a Labour too left and a Tory Party too right.

There are a lot of posts from people I've noticed who would normally back the Conservatives, but are worried they are being unchecked, that their values for voting Tory are not being represented.

You can be very partisan and just see it in black and white as red v blue, but the political landscape right now is much more complex. The fact is, the Tories have called this election because the last 2 elections haven't delivered the majority they want. What the country really needs to decide, is does it need to give them a greater majority, or are we better represented with a house voting with a more balanced set of political views. That is democracy.

Precisely why it is in the interests of democracy to have a strong opposition, whichever party is in power.
At present, the Labour Party are unable to provide that opposition, the Libdems are a wishy washy bunch led by a political nobody and I don't think that most right thinking voters really want an unholy alliance of Greens, far left Labour , Libdems and Nicola's lot, shouting the odds.

The opposition doesn't have to be one party though. If views are aligned on certain issues, then voting in the commons provides strong opposition.

I'm not sure I'll get sucked into this 'unholy alliance' or 'coalition of chaos' rhetoric. The lib dems originate from Labour, the Greens are socialists at their core as are the SDP. They collectively got 47% of the vote in 2015, and that is likely to rise in this election, even if that doesn't transfer to seats.

I take your point, but I think the best thing that could happen would be for Labour to come to their collective senses and once again become a party that moderates feel that they could safely vote for. I think the Greens are far too left and , let us say quirky, for most people's taste and the SPD under Nicola Sturgeon are obsessive. Reckon the Libdems are still a load of smug, righteous characters with no leadership.
Interesting times ahead. Personally, I hope Corbyn and McDonnell get the gooner after the election and some kind of sanity can once again prevail in the Labour Party.

I used to think that too, but did she though? It's common knowledge she's one of the 30 under investigation for 2015 expenses and how a millionaire like her, with her various offshore interests, can put in for a 27 pence expenses claim on a half mile car journey in her constituency and have principles, beats me now.

Private Eye did 2 pages for 3 issues in a row on her family's business history and interests. How she is anywhere near Parliament is beyond me, I doubt she's pass an FA 'fit and proper person test.'

Nevertheless, your explanation is not accurate.
They may be perceived as systematically and knowingly see people in to poverty while feathering the nests of their bretheren and making sure that their mates can romp about the countryside in silly outfits drinking brandy.

But I doubt very much if that is true of ALL tories ?

I don't get this Tory hate, would rather have them in charge than the Labour Party any day. Listening to Corbyn is like a throwback to the 1980's. I voted Labour like a lot of people years ago, but never ever again, as far as I'm concerned they wrecked this country to the point it will never be the same again. There are millions of other people just like me, who are not rich, but just plodding along. We agree it is what it is, and it doesn't matter what you do from this point forward nothing is going to change that much. Nobody is going to help you anymore, if you are able, only you can make things better.

And if you're not? Who is going to look after them? Not the Tories.

How, exactly did they 'wreck this country'?? By now, even the most blinkered must have realised that the world-wide financial crash was not Labour's fault (and also that the oft-trotted out liberalisation of finance would have happened faster and deeper under the Tories - so don't use that one), and that until then this country was getting better in things like social care, policing, public services, NHS and so on. All of which have gone downhill since 2010.

So, come on - what did Labour do that 'wrecked the country'? And in what way is it 'wrecked' in your view?

Typical Tory...assuming everyone has a garden wall.

Meanwhile, if you have one, can I borrow your garage please to keep my spare can of petrol in next time those nasty Union oiks threaten to call out the tanker drivers.

Shall I put this drivel down to excess alcohol?

Am I just becoming an old fart or is this simply vandalism?

Regardless of political views, this is just graffiti and I'm not sure I ever found slogans daubed on walls in the least bit funny. I don't think it's my age, but the amount of people who do find it funny does make me wonder.

This...

I don't get this Tory hate,

... and this...

Listening to Corbyn is like a throwback to the 1980's. I voted Labour like a lot of people years ago, but never ever again, as far as I'm concerned they wrecked this country to the point it will never be the same again. There are millions of other people just like me, who are not rich, but just plodding along. Nobody is going to help you anymore, if you are able, only you can make things better.

... have little to do with each other. All you've done is created a scenario based on your own perspectives, without viewing the bigger picture, and decided who is to blame.

Meanwhile, if you opened your eyes and ears, you'd know full well why there's so much hatred against the Tories. The fact you don't understand it kind of precludes you from any meaningful discussion. If you understood the hatred against the Tories, but argued a valid counterpoint, there might be some validity. But you haven't, all you've done is whine about something you say you don't understand.

Being a 'throwback to the 1980s' has no meaning. Or rather, if you do want it to have meaning, why not point out that listening to Theresa May is like a throwback to the 1880s?

Thanks for putting me in the picture. The only things I knew about her was that she used to be married to AA Gill and did a good demolition job on that asinine fool Johnson during a TV special last summer. I didn't realise that she had a starring role in the murky world of expenses claims. Another thing she has in common with Fox I suppose.

Unlike the far right, obviously. A plague on both houses.
