Tory promises are bollocks.

They say they will improve public services and lower tax.

Not possible.

What they mean is they will lower tax, remove funding for the needy of society and the 'undeserving' poor and spend that money on services for the middle class.

Mark Twain I believe.

Bit annoyed to hear on the news yesterday that Labour are putting public money into the private sector to do certain MRI scans. Almost like a tory decision that! Public money should go into the NHS not shortcuts to hack away at waiting lists.

I was upset to find that there is practically no difference between the Labour party and the Conservative party anymore.

It makes little difference who wins the election, although everybody already knows it's a foregone conclusion.

The saddest part is that Blair is nationally riled for poor decision making of late and going against the wishes of the nation and yet nobody in opposition has capitalised on this to amass the popular vote. So instead we are left with yet another 4 years of Blair and "New Labour"

As opposed to Tony Blair who said in 1997 that his government would improve public services and not increase taxes, that his Government would be purer than pure, whiter than white.

A chancellor that is prepared to re-classify expenditure on roads to ensure he meets his golden rule. A government that hasn't got the balls to tell the truth ... substantial tax rises required after the election to balance the books. In the same way that in the run-up to the last election, they refused to admit that they were planning to increase NI contributions after the election.

The same government that is telling us all to put more into our pension funds whilst at the same time, taking £5bn a year from the said pensions funds. The same government that immediately labels as racist anyone that attacks them on immigration and asylum.

I second that.

As for public services being better under Labour, well give the casualty at the RSCH a try, and see how all that extra tax is being wasted.

And what a great idea New Labour have got, up southern council taxes to subsidise northern council taxes.

Did you really vote for that?

Didn't New Labour say they wouldn't put up income tax, yet a few months later put up the tax on income?

Did you really vote for that?

Er, yes.

Personally, I am more concerned about the resources that Cheshire County Council have to provide social care for my mother than I am about how much West Sussex County Council gets in grant to enable it to hold down taxes for the benefit of people who are sitting in houses that are increasing in value by tens of thousands a year.

At the end of the day all these parties are crap, they are all liers and the most sickening thing about it is they all get paid 50,000 a year to sit on there arses and slag each other off each day instead of getting out and sorting out problems that we see everyday.

My girlfriend is a teacher, before I met her I thought teachers where wingers and lazy, but its not until you see what they have to deal with you understand. Imagine trying to deal with 30 15-16 year olds in a class.

My girlfriend works in Luton and there has been several occasions where she has been called a racist or f***ing bitch simply for telling a child off. She tells the child that they where told off for being naughty and has nothing to do there race.

Not only that but you then have people in the goverment constantly making changes to the system, and then you also have Offsted officers coming in every few months to check that you are doing your job properly. All this would do my head in.

So next time anyone says teachers are lazy and should stop winging try teaching for a few months and see how knackered you feel. Some new teachers that arrive at her school only last about 6 months because they cannot cope with the kids and stress. Some teachers have even been threatened which is bang out of order. Trouble is the children have more rights than teachers these days.

And the goverment want to impose drug testing on Children on top of all the other shit. Teachers will refuse to do this because they are worried that they might get accused of touching the children up. I wonder if any of these policitions would like to become a teacher for a few months and see what it is really like especially Blair, Presscott and Howard.

My Mum, Brother & his G/F are teachers - He lived with me for 9 months & would often be up 'til 2/3 am setting classwork for pupils.

The anount of shit they take is unbelievable. :nono:

If politicians earn 50K+ a year teachers should earn at least 200K.

People are misinformed about Teachers. The first thing people say about Teachers is that they get too much holiday and then they say they need to get in to the real world.

Their holiday time is spent doing more work and marking books. Sometimes my girlfriend brings back over 200 books to be marked and these can take as long 20 minutes to mark each.

Her day starts at 7.30am and can sometimes finish as late as 9.00pm in the evening.
