Indulged through a roving Minister for Common Sense
Whilst everyone is rejoicing in Braverman's departure, incredulous at Cameron's return, the covid enquiry is continuing.
This thread is horrific. Billions of items of PPE unusable, and more millions on hold due to allegations of modern slavery. The present government then have the gall to boast the NHS funding is at a record high. Money into their cronies pockets, not hospitals or medical staff. Thieves and robbers!
Meanwhile, is it any wonder our country is in a mess? Besides 5 Prime Ministers in 7 years, we have also endured -

It was unusable because it didn't protect the health workers. Over 600 medical staff died whilst treating covid patients, because of insufficient PPE or faulty PPE. You may remember some resorted to bin bags instead of aprons. There are plenty of posts from medical staff decrying the standard of equipment supplied to them.Absolutely agree with you they have pocketed money, no doubt - scum bags and should be arrested.
Why is the rest unusable, is it out of date?
I do not recall at the time people moaning about stockpiling or buying it from China, who have a dodgy history when it comes to producing items and slavery
too much bought, some out of date (yep, even for face masks and plastic aprons), mixed in with small % unusable. couple years back there were questions why we didn't have stockpiles, now the complaint is stockpiles are not used. which answers why we dont have stockpiles.Absolutely agree with you they have pocketed money, no doubt - scum bags and should be arrested.

As pointed out above, it cant be stockpiled due to it having an expiry date, the entire world was trying to buy it at once, there is a limited amount to buy, China started knocking it out on the cheap and no one checked it or how it was sourced. It was unusable because it didn't protect the health workers. There is evidence of experienced PPE providers in this country being ignored in favour of the VIP lane, ie Hancocks mate down the pub as well as MOne and Barrowman. As pointed out above, it cant be stockpiled due to it having an expiry date, the entire world was trying to buy it at once, there is a limited amount to buy, China started knocking it out on the cheap and no one checked it or how it was sourced.
Google PPE Shortage and a country and you will see the same story repeated in most cases.
Yes, me also = pedant. They missed:
4 grocers' apostrophes in one tweet.
[checks post, rechecks post and hopes for the best ]
They are starting to trickle in
They are starting to trickle in
They are starting to trickle in
Absolutely, as I said these people should be charged. There is evidence of experienced PPE providers in this country being ignored in favour of the VIP lane, ie Hancocks mate down the pub as well as MOne and Barrowman.
James Dyson was asked to make ventilators and had never made one in his life.
Please stop trying to make excuses for them. The post earlier is an official document and it is emerging in the covid enquiry.
In January, it was evident a pandemic was sweeping the world, and Johnson was in the West Indies. He missed three Cobra meetings which was outiright negligence.
I can remember seeing established PPE providers in this country, on Twitter, asking why their bids were ignored. Price is irrelevent when the PPE isn't fit for purpose. The government has been proven to have ignored the warnings from Operation Cygnus in October 2016.Absolutely, as I said these people should be charged.
However where do you think they would have gotten the PPE from? there was not any, there was a shortage world wide except the items China suddenly had, cant magic it up.
There is a finite amount of PPE around, highest bidders won, people in the UK screaming to get more in cant now look back and criticise the source of where it was from and if it was attached to slavery.
Three junior ministers resigned yesterday.Pretty sure that's the first and only one that's been publicised, and it was done so yesterday. Not convinced that constitutes a trickle (see also the previous post )
