I have always votes Conservative except for a couple of times recently when I voted for Mr Farage to ensure that Brexit got done. Now however I find it very hard to consider voting Conservative again for many reasons. On the other hand what alternatives are there? Labour? Never in a million years. Lib-Dem? No chance? Green? Never. So maybe I'll have to hope that Rishi will indeed change things in the Conservative Party and once again vote blue.
I’m not English but even I can see Brexit wasn’t ever going to be a good idea for the people of this country .

I'm curious, what are your top 3 things the Tories should be doing now?

…….. whereas I have always said I could no more vote Conservative than I could cut off my left leg with a blunt rusty penknife.

Your hope is pinned on Rishi Sunak?

All the very best with that.

A cowardly Tory MP will send a text to a journalist/broadcaster but not have the moral courage to say it publicly.

Given his courage and authority it was probably Rishi

LOLz - good one :lolol:

If you don't like any of the options, just don't vote!

I wanted a red, white and blue Brexit but Johnny Foreigner, Jeremy Corbyn, Muslims, immigrants, The EU, The Labour Party, people who read The Guardian and people who didn't believe enough ruined it. ☹️

The oven ready one would have undoubtedly been brilliant if they hadn't used a woke air-fryer.

I always thought we needed a world leading, British made oven, red hot and ready for that deal. It didn't happen.

I think when it was delivered the pilot light was broken. We were trying to light it with a world leading British match, but they wouldn’t spark and kept snapping in two as they were struck.

Eventually we tried to switch it off before we all gassed ourselves, but inevitably the knob fell off.

We called the Fire Brigade but they said that they’d take two hours to get there, and we worked out that if we let the place burn down and then rebuilt it, it would still be cheaper than paying the excess plus increased premiums on our home insurance.

Honestly, everything’s fine.

What do you think about the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre? I’ll be honest, I’m dead against it.

This gov officially levying the highest % of tax as a proportion of national income in our history. Their wastefulness and corruption exacerbates the problem of course, but it does ask the question as to how do we (the taxpayer) can afford the level of public expenditure now, let alone the extra we are calling for (eg nhs, climate change mitigation, cost of living support etc) going forward.
Not necessarily a party political point as it is one of the big problems all parties have to find a solution to, but all imply they can tax less and spend more. I don’t believe they actually think is viable but to deny it costs too many votes.
Not sure what the answer is.

The answer is to spend wisely instead of lining donor’s and cronies pockets. Sunak’s wife, for example, pocketing millions for the childcare scheme, and billions written off furlough scams.

I don’t think there is one big solution. There is going to have to be many different solutions for the next government to avoid hiking individual tax. For example, private schools will have to pay VAT and business rates, this money will go straight to state schools.
