why? because China says so? their position on Taiwan is equivilent of demanding Republic of Ireland rejoins United Kingdom. maybe if there was less pandering to China's view, they'd have accepted reality that it's an independent nation.
I don't think anyone disagrees with you on that point. The question is why the hell is Liz Truss involved? She's an international diplomatic liability

Eh, Liz Truss is wading into the China/Taiwan can of worms?! Does she even know where Taiwan is? Heaven help us.

TBF, she did open some pork markets in that neck of the woods a while ago, so maybe we should give her a chance.

we know the answer to this, Taiwanese group Prospect Foundation invited her. it's their bag. we might speculate why, i'd venture a guess she would say what they want her to say.

Excellent article in yesterday's Grauniad about how the Tories use 'displacement' - pinning their own failings and awfulness on their political opponents; so that in spite of being in power for 31 of the last 44 years, they claim that all our problems are the fault of Labour, the liberal elite (led by Gary Lineker), the Woke, the EU, trade unions, the poor, the unemployed, single parents, immigrants, etc.

A party which preaches 'responsibility', but never ever accepts any.

We believe that her speech will help to bolster the confidence of the Taiwanese people in defending democracy and freedom.

He's still an MP but now joined the Reclaim party under Laurence Fox (nutter)

His constituency should be allowed to have a by-election imo. Reclaim cannot boast of having an MP in the House of Commons. It is totally corrupt.

He is taking Hancock to court, it's not all bad

Well, yes. But if you're getting someone in to deliver your message, surely you'd want someone with a) international stature of note and b) that isn't likely to completely mess up the deliver.

Unfortunately the idea of pissing off the Chinese Communist Party tends to put most people who meet those qualifications off turning up.

To be fair, he is right that he didn’t sell it for £100, but I’m not sure actually selling it for £96.79 is better.

I keep getting a figure of £56.25 running through my head, for some reason.

THEY’RE ALL AS BAD AS EACH OTHER…

No they’re f***ing not. Boot the fuckers into the weeds. Never has a party needed so much a big period in opposition.
I think the above statement happens to be true ....... if we're talking about the tories

There's seems to be criticism from some quarters about Labour not having enough plans and maybe they have a point.

But the fact is in a 2 party system they are the only option we have and under Starmer it cannot be worse than what we have with the Tories. They need a period in the wilderness, Brexit has trashed their party of all credibility and its 100% of their own doing.

They've trashed the economy, they've trashed our institutions, they're trash our standing in the world and they're trashing our freedoms, our access to the voting system and our democracy.
