An editorial that will live on in infamy. No one in all of history has been as pathetically determined to get a peerage ā€” at any cost at all ā€” as Paul Dacre.

Everyone is different, but the pure insults that Boris has had chucked at him, with mocked-up videos etc, has been so hateful and pathetic for ages now, this is partly why so many forgave him for a beer or two and a 9 minute party bash.
The left lacked professionalism, hence lost respect and potential voters....who knows, maybe forever.
No big picture thinking from these guys just pure spite and jealousy.

Seriously I have not seen even one bad video on Starmer and co, whereas the tories had them coming at them daily for years since Brexit really.

One, it's bad sportsmanship, and two just not clever as a strategy as the middle ground fence-sitters can make the difference, why would you vote for the nastiness and childishness of the left, when there is an alternative.

I donā€™t agree Mouldy. Labour as a party mostly hasnā€™t indulged in this nastiness. They have a dignified leader. The nastiness is from followers on the internet who wonā€™t actually be making any decisions.

Starmer was found innocent by Durham Police. Boris was one of over one hundred fines handed out by the Met. Are you saying that what you get out of that is that "the lefties" are being nasty? The Mail ran with their "Beer Korma" idiocy for two whole weeks non-stop and yet, no one bought it, including the cops. Do you trust the Police Mouldy?

Time to admit that Boris is a rogue and Starmer is straight as a die. Each has their place. I like my writers, comedians and entertainers to be amusing rogues and the people running the country to be dull and honest.

Time to get Boris back as a panellist on HIGNFY and writing some spiffing memoirs and let a responsible adult run the country.

If you are just going to be so insulting to everyone, I won't answer.

Why do you worry so much on what I think all of a sudden??? Whatever I say you will disagree with me anyway.

The hatred that certain members of the left show is why they will miss out on the middle ground of voters.
You can't believe some of the lengths people go to insult others. They need to clean up their act.
I don't see this from the right side, is it the fact that respect for people was always high on their agenda while growing up?

Do you REALLY believe this shit, or do you think, like Boris Johnson before you, that if you say something enough times it simply MUST be true.

Not so much from Starmer himself but from the motormouthed Jess Phillips for example, she should not be anywhere near the media unless she has a sedative first.
I agree most has come from the left followers, but they have pummelled it so hard with the likes of comedians promoting it and egging it on further, it's not mick-taking its mainly crass and vulgar, as far as most are concerned they are what Labour party members stand for.

I doubt that they have even viewed it from this angle.

Not like you to blame others. Oh, nope, thatā€™s exactly like you.

He got away with the lockdown parties and disrespecting those who died and their relativesā€¦. because people called him out on it?

:wrong:

If you werenā€™t such a crashingly obvious troll, I would feel sorry for you.

If this was a public vote there is not one of the front runners that would get in. Which is why we need a general election.

And we are about to start another week with Johnson in No.10. I bet heā€™s running around in there like Kevin McAllister.

Do you think heā€™s setting traps to ward off the next incumbent, marbles, flame throwers, irons on strings, etc.?

Any comedian worth his salt could make his fortune almost just by reading that out in the right way!

If you'd taken a keener look at what happened you'd realise that the Johnson "Birthday Cake" fine was a just a way for Sue Gray / The Met to get out of fully investigating what happened in the flat, frightened of the legal nuance of it being both a private residence and a public one.

It's also probable that a "loophole" in the Covid Laws was fully taken advantage of over Christmas that wasn't even included in the report.

Politicians on both sides know the reality and all the mud slinging is a Westminster and Daily Mail game.

Starmer won that game.

Get over it and move on.

Sounds like what someone clearing the place of everything they can stuff in a van would say.

ā€œSalad bowl? Nah not got one of them. Didnā€™t even have bulbs in the lights mate.ā€

Starmer was not found innocent, he was innocent, in the same as driving at 28 mph is innocent of speeding in a 30 zone. There was No Case to Answer ie no rule was broken.

If Boris and Carrie donā€™t have a salad bowl, itā€™s not through lack of cash. Itā€™s through lack of organisation.
Or him lobbing it at her head.

Pedantry.

He was being investigated, very publicly, which you would not be if you'd done 28 in a 30. There simply would not be a conversation, let alone one that played out on the front of the Daily Mail for 2 weeks.

He had to be found innocent and the distinction is important, because you are innocent until proven guilty in this country, unless a right wing rag takes an illegal photo of you eating some rice.

Given that Boris looks about 5 stone overweight, I doubt anybody will be surprised to hear that the Johnson's don't own a salad bowl, tbh.
