This is amazing. Big brexit benefit will be changing signs. He doesn’t like the funny numbers we get dealing with yards.

https://twitter.com/adambienkov/status/1540268003224436736?s=21&t=bplr_UsHQ6uPAWFhYrN-Vw

For clarity.

12 inches to a foot.
3 foot to a yard
22 yards to a chain
10 chains to a furlong
8 furlongs to a mile.

To stick to yards 1760 yards to a mile.

If reece mogg doesn’t like funny numbers then someone should explain how millimetres, centremetres, metres and kilometres work. Lots of nice round numbers ending in zero.

If products that are regulated, both work and are safe, I wonder if that's because they are regulated to both work and be safe?

I do hope the Tories parachute Helen Hurford in to another constituency next time there is a by election or General Election. Blind rabid loyalty to Johnson despite the facts, should be rewarded....plus the serial denials of the bleeding obvious are great fun for most of us now...

Is she related to Nadine?

Personally, I don't want someone who is bombastic and charismatic if that is associated to an empty vessel, which, in my opinion, sums up Johnson. I think people did vote for him for the reasons you gave but I would suggest most are now seeing through his act.

Yes, charismatic, with integrity and a plan, that would be good. Not too much to ask!

In the States they called some Republicans who were not deemed right wing enough RINOs (Republican in name only). So perhaps Boris is a CINO or TINO ?

You’ve got the C, N and T….you’re missing the U.

Edit: I see someone has already done this.

Ultimately the Tory majority is built on two distinct power bases

1. Traditional Tory strongholds in the rural south (the sort of place that's been Tory every time for a century).
2. The newly won "Red Wall" seats which were heavily Leave voting despite being strongholds for other parties (mostly Labour).

Last night proved the Tories are looking very shaky in both of these. If the Lib Dems make serious inroads into the former while Labour can win back the latter, we aren't necessarily looking at the Tory majority being wiped out but the party numbers crashing down in a 1997-style bloodbath.

Old selfish ***** and new stupid *****?

Surely not even Mouldy Boots can defend Boris now? The democratic electorate have spoken and they've told Big Dog to take a long walk off a short pier.

Hammered in Wakefield by traditional Labour votes returning.

Hammered in Devon by a party of "remoaners" just a couple of years after "getting Brexit done".*

His own party Chairman resigning, JRM trolling the electorate, PPF stylee with a mad rant about signs in the Dartford tunnel and the famous Rwanda flight being emptied quicker than Selhurst when Palace are 4-0 down. Boris hiding in Africa and his candidate hiding in a dance studio.

No one can defend this stuff any more, regardless of intellect and political hue, surely???

*except for Northern Ireland, obvs.

Now now. Every business would keep everything just as safe and pay people the right wages if they were not regulated. Definitely.

Old selfish ***** and new stupid *****?

Basically, yes. Curtain-twitching, middle class "well there's so may of them, aren't there? Although I do love Magda our au pair, and Mr Patel's corner shop on the corner" racism and former UKIP "sink the dinghies and LET 'EM ALL DROWN!!" racism.

* And any Import controls (which JRM NOW thinks would be an 'act of self harm' :dunce:)

Cough!

There was Tory on the radio defending Johnson with the standard crib sheet....." Got the big calls right, Vaccines , got Brexit done ( honest ! ), working night and day for the people of this country...and finished with Delivering the levelling up as promised. " he said this without the slightest hint of irony and without being questioned on it by the BBC journo.

An audience member on Question Time this week reeled off the same list when the panel were discussing Johnson's leadership but also added the obligatory "...and he also caught Covid - and nearly died!"

Mick Lynch sat there totally straight-faced and said deadpan, "I didn't realise catching Covid could be considered an attribute."

Currently in the kitchens in the Kigali Marriot, asking if he can have a quick look in the fridge.

Hang on in there Boris. There is no problem that can't be fixed by a decent gin and tonic.

Plan B - stay over to inspect the whole Rwanda operation until the dust settles at home. Piece of cake. Preferably several pieces.

I heard Raab on Today who had obviously been given a script to read because all he said was "forget distractions" and "focus relentlessly on delivery". Ten minutes of him saying just that.

I don't think he believes that shite any more that you do TBH. Just keeping himself in a job for another day, much like Big Dog.

He was on the Today Programme on Radio 4 this morning doing the set piece 08:10 interview. Nick Robinson started his line of questioning by saying that even when Margaret Thatcher had poor by election results, people knew what her programme was - low taxation and free market economics.
"A big part of the problem, Mr Raab, is that nobody knows what this government's detailed plan is," said NR. "Or even if it has a plan."
Raab countered that the government's plan is for a high skill, high wage economy.
"Forgive me, Mr Raab. But that isn't a detailed plan. That's a vision."
