Yes time to take down the BBC, we're paying too much and should hand over our money to take dodging tech giants instead...

Indeed, it's a regressive tax I heard on the radio this morning.
This is from Michael/Lord Grade who isn't well known for proselytising for progressive taxation, and is none too dissimilar from those invoking mental health as a reason to end lockdowns, ie purely a strategic convenience rather than a conviction.

He's lived off his "lovable buffoon" persona for far too long. He's now become absolutely toxic - his incompetence, his lack of attention to detail, his laziness, his endless lying, the fact he's surrounded himself with 23 year old lacky's. Its all coming home to roost.

Without doubt by far and away the worst Prime Minister in all our lifetimes. Probably ever, in history. He is an utter embarrassment to this country. I literally cringe whenever I see he is amongst other world leaders. Its like sending Michael Barrymore to the UN.

Here is a video of Barrymore signing at the UN. It's a masterpiece.

International Maritime law states that it would be illegal to not attempt the rescue of refugees in the Channel.
This is stated, for example, in the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) Article 98 the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), Regulation V-33. All states recognize this duty.

Therefore, to order the RN to either turn back boats or ignore them if in trouble would be an illegal order. Any Serviceman ( or Woman) can legally refuse to obey an illegal order.

This one is dead in the water.

To be honest, I'm not sure whether that line actually DOES imply support. Yes, it puts out there (another) crass populist 'policy', that the feeble-minded will lap up, but it also makes clear how the very action is a shallow distraction aimed at nothing more than self-preservation on Johnson's part.

The implicit support I referred to is more of a lack of reporting on the parties because one was in honour of their now deputy editor.

I suspect the Sun to now follow the Tory agenda with stories about the following:

1. Support Mr Johnson in changing the No.10 ‘culture’ (by sacking a handful of staffers).

2. Publicise Kier having a beer in his party HQ during a teams meeting.

3. Publicising the vaccine roll-out.

4. Publicising the Navy’s battle for the channel with against migrant inhabited inflatables.

5: Applaud the proposal to massively down scale the BBC by taking away their funding model.

I think Mr Johnson will ride this out, especially when Sue Grey’s report concludes that technically, the PM broke no rules and did not lie to Parliament.

Isn't it appalling that one of the first things that entered their minds after many months of pissing about with the issue, was to bring in the Navy to sort out the immigrant problem and make Johnson popular again, in the hope that a lot of the public will think that we are going to torpedo the dinghies.
The thing is that they are probably not far off either.
On GMB this morning it was said in jest but Andrew Pierce (mail and LBC) said 'there is an idea'
The one thing Johnson has got right is how to please the racist idiots that infest this country, it is how he 'got Brexit done.
If they wanted to bring in the overstretched Navy to help, why didn't they do it 2 years ago?
Not much of a country at the moment is it.

No. Not much of a country at all. I wish Mr Johnson had stuck to game shows or topical new quizzes instead of being given one iota of responsibility:

On the political test graph thing I come up as only just right of centre, and I consider the BBC to be slightly left of centre.

I also consider the non journalist staff of Auntie to be a complete bunch of PC ‘right on’, muesli munching bellends who are only so faux left so that they can somehow disguise their utterly self centred existence. Bit like some of the charity workers for Kidscape? run by looney Batmanwhatshername. I used to know a couple of the staff who were horrified when they lost their jobs as they could not comprehend how they would get by without their London life interspaced with long weekends in the Cotswolds!

But then many on the left see the Beeb as a bastion of the middle/upper classes supporting Hooray Henry’s and the Royal Family. What gives huh?

Eh? You're a tiresome Daily Express sock puppet.

"only just right of centre" my f**king arse.

Funny how I see you as extreme (ish) left and you see ma as an Express/Mail follower. I used to regularly vote Labour when younger

One of my least favourite Tories (and I've had lunch with Iain Duncan Smith).

Utter, utter ****.

Of course you see me as extreme (ish) left - you are a Daily Express sock puppet, as previously discussed.

I'm about as extreme left as Keir Starmer and Tony Blair, you clown.

Most of his plans will be reversed the minute anyone sensible gets into power. If they ever see fruition in the first place. For example, it’s highly unlikely we will actually see the BBC license fee scrapped. The only problem is that his core voters love all their “bash the left” rhetoric and will keep voting for them.

As we all know, this won’t fix itself if Johnson goes. There are plenty more nasty ****ers left to take over the construction of the Death Star.

There are some decent tories and one must hope that one of them emerges, and not another venal coke-sniffing ********.

I think it was an actual NSC moderator who told us days ago he will be voting tory. I think he reminded us about Brown's financial incompetence (Brown in fact mitigated, with great leadership, the worst of the US-created financial crash). Brown never saw it coming, of course. But, as if the tories would have instructed British banks to disinvest from anything linked to US finance, back in 2005 before the shit began to hit the fan. As if. The tories would have rammed the UK economy balls-deep int the US finance markets, FFS. 'Still backing Boris' is delusional confirmation bias.

If I can say I urged people to vote tactically (including tory) to keep Corbyn out (and I'm a labour supporter and am, again, a member of the party), why can't (presumably) well educated tories accept that Boris has to go and that they will vote against him?

And I appreciate there are many tories, including many NSC posters who do take the latter view and will vote against them to facilitate the demise of Johnson the liar. I salute them.

I guess the tory faithful ('still backing Boris') are just the flip side of momentum; no compromise with the electorate, eh lads?
