Can you imagine being stood in a polling station, looking at a list of candidates and thinking "yes, Suella Braverman. She's the candidate I want to represent me and my constituency at Westminster"?
Actually, I've just seen she represents Fareham. It all makes sense now.
****ing Hampshire.
She is and always has been as bad an MP as you can imagine. Unfortunately all of the Saints and Pompey twats that live round here are as blue as they come and will vote Tory scum in at all times.

However, they are changing the boundaries here and where I live is being moved to another constituency so even if they somehow get in again, she will no longer be our representative. The constituency she is likely to get locally is more at risk so I expect she’ll be parachuted into another safer seat. Vile, vile bitch.

Many people have warned time and time again what would happen if we desperately let swivel-eyed Brexit loons into this cabal's cabinet. These two posts giving an idea of the incoming 5 years ago.

But the simple facts were ignored and what we have is 'what the people wanted'. I appreciate that you, me and many others tried everything to stop us getting here but

Toute nation a le gouvernement qu'elle mérite

And no amount of whinging and whining about the cost of living, the cost of energy, the NHS, the increases in immigration, the emergency services struggling, the crashing economy, industries being destroyed, the legal system grinding to a halt, the explosion in food banks, the increase in asylum seekers in boats, etc etc is going to change that.

Is asking people to stop whining and actually take responsibility for what they did really so outrageous ? :shootself

I heard them all on radio 5 this morning, grizzling about the cost of living. Not a word of criticism about HMG. Not. One. Word.

f*** 'em. Sorry, but f*** 'em all. You had one vote and you pissed it up on the liberals, greens or (worse) Boris' Brexit piggies. I appreciate the alternative was Corbyn, but not one tiny word of wistful retrospectroscopy? "I just wish Starmer had been labour leader"? I did wish that. Anyway, now he is.

Oh well, never mind. f*** them then and f*** them next time. If you have been f***ed over for years, and don't even give socialism a tiny thought, then f*** you. Dream on about proportional representation and a green liberal coalition. Being f***ed over is now part of the constitution. But it's what people wanted, and voted for, so f***ing do one and stop grizzling.

(Anyone who is struggling and always votes labour, this rant is not directed at you, obviously)

Anyway, Starmer is a whiney git, all nasal, whereas Sunak has big nostrils and a pleasing voice, so, Tory it is, come the next GE. That's how it works, folks.

Unfortunately Waterlooville is likely to return her.as well.

Unfortunately there will be vast swathes of dum-dums who truly believe Britain’s downfall is the fault of foreigners and those who don’t believe hard enough in Brexit. And that the Tory’s just need another 13 years to get it fixed.
Like my post above, only succinct. How do you do it?

“A spokesman for Mr Johnson said: "Some abbreviated entries in Mr Johnson's official diary were queried by Cabinet Office during preparation for the Covid inquiry.
The spokesman added that Mr Johnson's lawyers had written to the department, as well as the Commons Privileges Committee, "explaining that the events were lawful and were not breaches of any Covid regulations."” BBC

At the tax payers expense no doubt. We’re literally paying for his lies.
He pays £3.9 million cash for a new home, but gets legal aid for his defence!
If any of us wanted legal aid, we’d be turned down because it’s part of the Criminal Justice System’s cut backs.

The Tories may be a despicable party, but Labour will still have to produce a manifesto that will entice Tory voters to switch to them. Mid term protest votes against the sitting government are just par for the course. It's no good Starmer putting out policy ideas that will appeal to Labour voters. He needs to get the hearts and minds of Tory voters.

Johnson’s sister has said all Covid rules were followed when she visited him at Chequers.

Is she a bit dim?

She’s just confirmed that Covid rules weren’t followed at Chequers, as if they were, she wouldn’t have visited him.

Probably but apparently it’s not quite as safe as Fareham. We can hope!

I honestly don’t know how anyone in good conscience can vote for her or anyone else from that despicable party.
Look.

Let's not talk this great country down.

Under Corbyn we would have been . . .

Oh, hang on....

Approximately 10% of Conservative MPs have announced plans to retire at the next election, sparking suggestions that they are jumping ship in the expectation of losing the next election.

Having resigned as justice secretary over bullying claims, Dominic Raab is the latest high-profile Tory politician to confirm they are serving their final term in parliament.

Sorry, but if anyone (having lived through the past five years) is still standing there in the ruins of our country with arms folded saying “I remain to be convinced” then there’s nothing on earth that is going to stop them from putting a cross in the Conservative candidate’s box at the next election.

Anyone voting for this Conservative Party at the next general election is wilfully complicit in the destruction of our country.

The Conservative Party is promising more of what brought us here. Keir has given us an energy policy, Rachel Reeves has been in the US building bridges with America and discussing a cohesive industrial strategy at the Peterson Institute, as well as meeting some of Biden’s team.

Meanwhile, our alleged government have been trying to avoid speeding tickets and our cardboard cut-out Prime Minister has proven powerless to get rid of the culprit, even though this is about the fourth time she’s proven an absolute liability. This is the depth of ‘talent’ in the U.K. Conservative Party.

These days, when I imagine 10 and 11 Downing Street, I imagine the windows open and the faint sounds of the Benny Hill theme tune emanating endlessly from within.

And then there's those who will never ever change the way they vote completely regardless of anything that has been said, or more importantly, done to them. Any other political party would just be wasting their time trying to appeal to their hearts, wouldn't they

I want the next Labour(-led)? government to have a range of policies that really, really p!ss off some -- by no means all -- Conservative voters. Because the extent and depth of the surgery required on this country after 13 years of distraction is monumental.

According to some of tomorrows front pages Johnson is furious he was referred to the police and is threatening to sue the lawyers that referred him

🥱
The irony is the revelations that Johnson has been referred to police over alleged lockdown parties at Chequers only came to light because Sunak government agreed to foot his legal bills for the Covid inquiry. Maybe he knew what he was doing...

Yep. They cannot claim they don’t know what’s going on.

I'm not convinced Labour can do all the surgery required alone, they need a progressive alliance with LD's.

Gonna be very hard for the next government we looking at 5-10 years of anemic growth

As a regular Radio 5 listener, I love the way they have implemented the Government's rules on 'balance'. If you have someone on who actually understands a situation and makes valid, fact based observations and statements, then the next caller must be a complete ranting moron in order to give 'balance' :lolol:

Good. Let’s hope some of them can’t make a living.
And see what the rest of us have to endure.

Exactly, I hate the notion of balance but, like the Tories, it's surprisingly popular.
