His wiki page makes for exhausting reading. Some morsels;

Anderson announced via social media in June 2021 that he would not watch any England national football team matches during the Euro 2020tournament in protest at the players' decision to take the knee (a symbolic gesture against racism)[25]before matches. He stated his opposition was because he felt that the action risked "alienating traditional supporters" and it supported Black Lives Matter, which in his opinion was a "political movement whose core principles aim to undermine our very way of life".

Anderson was one of three Conservative Party candidates investigated by the party over claims of antisemitism during the election campaign.[13] The investigation was opened on the grounds that he was an active member of a Facebook group in which other members supported Tommy Robinson and promoted George Soros conspiracy theories.[14][15]The results of the investigation were not made public, but Anderson later attended online training sessions by the Antisemitism Policy Trust charity to improve his understanding of antisemitism. He apologised for being a member of the group, and reported that he had left the group when the initial allegations were made.

In May 2022, Anderson was criticised by opposition politicians and the food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe for suggesting in parliament that there was not "massive use for food banks" in the UK, and what use there was related to a lack of teaching on budgeting and cooking. Anderson invited opposition MPs to visit a food bank in his constituency, where he said that meals could be made for 30p a day, and which also provided a mandatory teaching course to its users.[33] It is for these comments that Anderson has been referred to by the nickname '30p Lee' by his critics and across social media.

Unfortunately, all this will make him popular in some pockets of society.

John Major has launched a scathing attack on Boris Johnson’s handling of Brexit, saying his administration agreed to the Northern Ireland protocol despite knowing it was unworkable.

“That must be the first agreement in history that was signed by people who decided it was useless in the first place,” Major told a Westminster committee on Tuesday.

The former Conservative prime minister did not name his successor but expressed astonishment at the acceptance of the protocol, which Johnson used to promote an “oven-ready” Brexit deal in the 2019 election.

Yet, what do any of you do. Believe in the democratic system and echo in here.
Even if one person went to Downing Street, that is action. You can take behaviour to the very limits, just know the law and when to walk away.
Change or no change? Its really not in our hands (but you will have a great time abusing people who think they are untouchable)
And then you wake up in the morning, watch the news, and nothing has changed.
At least you gave it a go, and will again.

😂

Your answer is to go to Downing St and shout at politicians who can’t hear you?

You’re aware that under new laws you can be arrested for such action?

In fact, under incoming Tory law, you could actually be arrested for your above post.

Which all means it is more important than ever to keep protesting but shouting through a gate at the end of a road to people who can’t hear you? Nah, you’re alright ta.

I've read this three times and no, haven't got there yet.
Sorry

GB news stalwart and all round **** Lee Anderson appointed Deputy Chair of Tory Party.

He really is an utter ****.
He is the leading protagonist of the culture war in the Tory party. A real wolf.

Strikers, trans people, black people, Europeans and ‘experts’ beware. He is going to work with the right wing media to blame all our woes on you. He has been put in place to garner the vote in the red wall constituencies for the next election.

The way he’ll do it will be to make northerners angry and full of hate. The line ‘they think you’re stupid’ will be used a million times.

Good news. The House of Lords defeated some of the more draconian clauses.

But every country has some bigots, and they represent a minority fringe of the population, you don’t pander to them.

In the same way that a sensible political party should also not pander to idealism without taking into account human nature.

Pandering to either set of outliers whittles away at your support in the centre ground inhabited by the less bigoted/more pragmatic individuals that form the majority of our society.

The Conservative Party in its current form, to speak frankly, needs burning down and starting again from scratch.

Which is a game of diminishing returns that will become apparent at the next election.

I really don't understand the strategy of this party unless they are looking at the election after next.
depends if that group is growing or shrinking. these are people that think they are being ignored, they dont like focus on other areas. even though things may be net worse for them, and they aren't traditional Conservatives, might vote that way because someone is speaking for them.

talking to @chickens point, ignoring the bigots probably lost Brown an election and certainly has changed voting patterns the past decade. better to change their minds, not tell them they are wrong.

Your last line is spot on. So how is appointing Lee Anderson - a lying, opinionated gammony bigot - as deputy chairman working to "change their minds"? If anything it normalises that line of thinking.
