Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce the UK's new Environment Minister. The guy who champions the export of our chicken to KFC in Mongolia.

Maybe they'll stick a few asylum seekers in the cargo hold - kill two birds with one inhumane stone.

The one whose parents came as immigrants from Ghana, who got a scholarship to Eton and a Double First at Cambridge?

Attack his policies all you like, and boy, do some of them need attacking, but just because someone has done well for themselves that shouldn't be one of them

Just stinks of envy.

A couple of points about the new cabinet

1) She has appointed "friends and supporters" to the front bench to ensure there is no dissent. A cabinet of nodding donkeys.

2) There is clearly not enough work to do sorting out the NHS as the Minister of Health role is no longer a fulltime job. The Minister of Health (a "good friend" of the PM) is also deputy PM.

In my world I'd end the state sponsorship of our class system removing the tax breaks from these faux charities. The furlock tugging continues...

Friends, supporters and no one that called out the law breaking liar that just left.

Business as usual with a Tufton Street turbo boost...

So they announce a pretty diverse cabinet, and its the wrong type of diversity?

Yeap means nothing without a progressive governance as a end product.

I thought Liz was brilliant today, she's just what the country needs. One of the sharpest minds English politics has ever had. She's packed the cabinet with almost (but obviously not quite) equally magnificent people and it's great to see T.C. As the new health minister ... an inspiration to us all. I am already inspired to look like an athlete by comparison (looking forward to those personal responsibility for you health messages).

You are Joe Lycett and I claim my £whatever.

I was about to post on the Queen thread but felt it was inappropriate.

When the monarch passes, Parliament gets a 10 day holiday. You couldn't make it up.

You said the other day the Tories would never vote for Rishi as he isnt white, yet now they have a large range of back ground it doesnt matter?

So you are happy for more Debt to **** the kids rather than a potential short term plan to get get energy costs down?

That slovenly mob of nitwits have more ****ing days off than Santa. As far as I’m concerned they can take the rest of their lives off. Useless sacks of shit, to a person.

either way they want taxpayers to subsidise energy companies huge windfall profits. She / they won't because they are the pockets of these companies.

BP funded her leadership campaign

Not diverse if 74% of the cabinet are from private schools and have absolutely no idea how the real world operates is it?

I disagree, at public school (at least mine) we were taught how the real WORLD works. And also how to communicate with a lot of them in their own language, not estuary English...

Well the huge debt of the public purse is largely avoidable, targeted help and making fossil fuel companies contribute would be a start.

But this is a burn and drill government as we are seeing, Truss's campaign received its large donation from the wife of a former BP exec.

You don't need to look very deep, its disappointing but not surprising at all she used to work for Shell.
