I think Javid had cred for his initial resignation(last year was it?), lost it for rejoining the Cabinet but has maybe won it back again now. It was a good speech and he may be the best of a very bad bunch. I’m just looking forward to how a new PM uses Nadine!

So this gang of cabinet members who told him to resign was led by that parliamentary giant Grant Shapps. Boris is probably still laughing. Up to the 1922 committee then.

It’s hilarious! Hopefully he hands out some cabinet sackings tonight as the cowards who told him to go don’t seem to have the balls to resign!

Johnson should have heeded his Eton tutor.... "I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation that binds everyone else."

....and before they did what they did so should the voters who voted him in and those in the Cabinet who propped him up.....

I've got the sneaking feeling he'll be ok and will land on his feet.

I’m sure he will.

But I just wonder about his mental state and his certainty that he IS Prime Minister and how dare anybody try to tip him out.

He wanted to be King of the World. I’m convinced he feels invincible. It’s quite sad really. But………. He deserves to be dumped.

Was that the same letter which said he seems to think the rules don’t apply to him? That’s what is going on at the moment.

Gods country fortnightly
So Zahawi today told Boris Johnson he should resign

And according to Sky News tomorrow he's agreed to launch a new economic plan alongside Boris Johnson in a bid to shore up his leadership

I won't believe Johnson is gone till he's gone

There will be twists and turns, we're dealing with a wannabe dictator

You make a very valid point. That's what has driven him throughout his career.

'Why should the rules apply to me? I'm a special case. So what if 39 people have resigned?'

Now I'm all for self-belief, but there comes a point when you do have to listen to those around you........

Jacob Young has resigned as PPS to Michael Gove, the levelling up secretary. He says despite his personal loyalty to Boris Johnson, he feels his position is now untenable.

Brandon Lewis, I'm told, heckled by a fellow passenger on a flight from Belfast to London tonight. The passenger told him: "You are complicit in the betrayal of this country by Boris Johnson."

Tory meltdown incoming...

Latest!

Michael Gove had been ‘fired’ by Johnson.

He got the nasty little c*** before he got stabbed in the back again.

How utterly embarrassing to be ‘fired’ on this day rather than resign! Humiliating.

The 1922 committee changing the rules in the next few days for a new no confidence vote will surely be the end of this.

Johnson has just sacked Michael Gove, so not intending to quit yet.
