Meltdown finally arriving. Will it go full implosion?

Calling it now: Boris gone by end of this month at latest, maybe end of this week.

Gotta wonder where these chaps have been hiding their principles, over the last 12 months?

Wow.

Hats off to Sunak and Javed.

Some may see their resignation as cynical.

I regard it as two blokes showing a bit of bottle. Opportunistic? We shall see - if they stand as leader. But....why not? If I were them, I would.

But the really exciting thing is that Johnson looks like he's finished. I don't care if this increases the liklihood of the tories winning the next general election.

Johnson must go. Now.

He won't resign though....

Oh and this

Just let THESE words sink in for a moment:

'The public rightly expect government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously.

I recognise this may be my last ministerial job, but I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning.'

He can't survive losing his Chancellor.... and there was talk that Javid was wavering a while back when they had the confidence vote. As Torys go he has a small small slither of a conscience and that puts him wayout in front of this Cabinet

He'll be gone by tomorrow. Much good it will do - will just end up with another of these Godawful twats - all of whom have debased themselves over the last couple of years.

No chance. He and Dorries won’t get a sniff of Cabinet again once he’s gone.

Can't see him valiantly soldiering on past tomorrow. Time's up. Even the sycophants might be coming round to not putting up a fight against this inexorable item of TRUTH.

I don’t normally post in these threads, only because it’s the same old comments day after day, year after year, which have no bearing on the real world.

But now the game’s up for Boris. It’s done, it’s over, shirley.

Btw, the thread should be renamed “Boris meltdown incoming”.

A new leader/PM will be anointed, with a 2.5 years lead up to the GE.

After this chaos, THE most important issue is the cost of living crisis and inflation. Listening to R4 today, many small businesses are seeing a 40% fall in trade, with their costs sky rocketing. We could be entering a period of large scale insolvencies, an economic depression.

Will this make the country more or less vulnerable?

Not a chance. Rees-Mogg, Patel and Dorries know that no one in their right mind would give them another job

He'll just retire to his coffin in the crypt until the time is right to return

To be fair....the mentality may be a bit like - and yet much less stark - a wife who thinks she has a strong marriage and lovely kids, home and life, but who gets the occasional slap from the old man. At some point she may cross the rubicon and leave the b'stard.
