So Priti Patel's rap sheet currently includes:

1. Sending traumatised migrants to Rwanda for further traumatisation.
2. Advocating a wave machine to capsize the migrants' boats.
3. Solving the NI border issue by blockading the country and starving them out.

She'll never make it to the very top in the Tory party. She's too humanitarian.

She also doesn't like counter terrorism.

I have to admit to not drilling down on this story, I just know I hate the policy, it's nasty, vindictive, illegal and entirely non sensical. But, 37, only 37? On a plane that can carry 300? So that's £13,500 per person just for the cost of transportation, put aside all the processing and legal costs. How low can this govt sink?

There is no amount of our tax payers' money these charlatans won't spaff in the pursuit of populist carpetbaggery.

A government that doesn't repsect the rule of law - whatever your poliitical leaning no one can support this

Policies with the specific aim of failing, be it Brexit, asylum seekers. Led only by ideology, whether to our or anyone's benefit is irrelevant, just to grab headlines and garner support

Absolute embarrasment

Thatcher would have been appalled.

"The legal system we have and the rule of law are far more responsible for our traditional liberties than any system of one man one vote. Any country or Government which wants to proceed towards tyranny starts to undermine legal rights and undermine the law."

That is weird. Anyone can make the odd the mistake of saying 'counter terrorism' when they mean 'terrorism', but she did it repeatedly, many times, in what were clearly prepared statements and soundbites.

The only possible conclusion from this, is that she doesn't understand what counter terrorism means.

You’ve missed off (amongst others)
5. Being sacked for holding I,legal secret meetings with foreign governments - claiming she was ‘on holiday’.
6. Being found to have aggressively bullied members of staff - all sorted out with a sackful of our money.

I see they have got their media henchmen, to smear Kier Starmer labelling him "Boring" errr,, John Major anyone? I seem to recall his spitting image puppet was grey and he only talked about having peas for dinner, but he was still elected, and was a decent PM by all accounts. There's no depth they will go.

When cost of living really bites I can see anarchy on the streets and the Cons will be forced to remove this government and reclaim the party as real conservatives

Food price rises in the UK could hit 15% this summer – the highest level in more than 20 years – with inflation lasting into the middle of next year, according to a report.

Meat, cereals, dairy, fruit and vegetables are likely to be the worst affected as the war in Ukraine combines with production lockdowns in China and export bans on key food stuffs such as palm oil from Indonesia and wheat from India, the grocery trade body IGD warns.

There is another reason why she'll never make it to the top of the Tory party, to be fair...

Diesel was £1.97 per litre at Ansty this morning.

Sort it out, Johnson. Get a grip.

What would you suggest he does exactly?
Plenty.

- Cut fuel duty and VAT on fuel. Even if the duty has to go negative ie subsidy.

- Make initial moves to join the EEA, resulting in the £ strengthening against the $ bringing down barrel cost.

The boozy big dog Dimwit of DownIt Street is too thick to see the solutions.

He's got to go.

The big one is cutting the fuel duty. It's applied before VAT gets calculated, so if you drop the duty you also reduce VAT at the same time.

Given that the cost of fuel for transportation is being cited as a significant driver (though not the only one) of inflation in other sectors, the government could really do a lot to help us all out by cutting the fuel duty and getting fuel prices under control.

Normally, I'd be all for pump prices going up - it helps tip the balance in favour of EVs and thus helps towards net-zero - but not the way it's happening this year. The rises have been too steep and uncontrolled, with the result that it's creating instability and rampant inflationary pressures elsewhere that simply aren't sustainable.

It's odd that Diane Abbot getting a number wrong once is played and referred to so much but the Home Secretary showing her lack of understanding on a very basic thing doesn't
