The delay to the report seems to have lowered the chances of him going, going to take something big now.
I've read today's delay as being quite serious.

It was seemingly agreed before that nothing in the report can be "prejudicial" since breaking "covid laws" only result in an on the spot fine and don't go before a judge.

Looks like something else has popped up in the Police investigation.

Could be wrong.

"Without fear or favour"

That has been the phrase spouted by Johnson, his ministers and Tory MPs since the cover-up, sorry, I mean investigation, started.

Yesterday many news outlets were reporting that the Gray Report was being "checked". This morning it is being reported that Cressida Dick, the incompetent Met commissioner is dictating what details can be included and government lawyers are also "checking" the report.

Independent my arse.

This Truss 500k flight should be the ****ing end of her. If you are so worried about being overheard just don’t have the conversation, have it in the 5 hours you could have saved by flying direct for a fraction of the cost.

Half a million quid on flights. Disgusting.

I suspect someone has already mentioned this elsewhere, but it's particularly disgusting since:

In 2007, Truss co-authored a report for the Reform think tank in which she urged public sector employees to treat taxpayers’ money like their own.

She said: “Every public sector worker should feel personal responsibility for the money they spend and the money they save.

“They should spend taxpayers’ money with at least the care they would give to their own. This change of mindset would be reflected in everyday changes such as travelling by economy rather than business class.”

I got to point 6 before I realised..

Really? I assumed it was fake because the source was Joe.

Those suspicions were confirmed when I got to the lower case 's' in 'street' on the first line

Of course I don't believe a single word that Johnson or this government says, there is no way that some sort of pressure has not been put on the leader of the civil service regarding the report, the cabinet and MP'S are falling over themselves to protect Johnson knowing that they could well be out of a job if he goes.
The report will be released tomorrow at about 5 or 6pm as these things often are to attempt to nullify some of the impact over the weekend.
So sick of hearing that Johnson is the good guy because he got Brexit done and saw us through the pandemic.
Are people really believing that bollox, he cobbled together a shit deal that we are going to pay a heavy price for in the years to come and we had one of the worst death tolls in the world, spending millions on Nightingale Hospitals that had no staff so he sent old people to homes to die to free up bed space.
The PPE scandal, billions wasted on the world beating test and trace system and a vaccine that was handed to him on a plate, any PM would have done the same, it had naff all to do with Johnson being a great PM, it was thanks to the NHS anyway.
And then of course he and his staff partied while we buried our families.
And people would still vote for him.
Extraordinary.

I reckon my dog could 'get Brexit done' in the way that he did – essentially signing off on something that they later want to change and claiming an "oven-ready deal" was ready to be implemented. I guess that deal has either gone off by now or is still stuck in the freezer – or fridge, next to Johnson when he's hiding in there.

Sunak gives me the impression that he's not a natural born Liar like our incumbent " leader ", yes , he has probably been economic with the truth but he's not going to be as bad. The old saying " If you can't say anything good about someone, say nothing " seems to be his method as he has been conspicuous by his absence regarding support for Johnson...I don't think he can stare in to a camera and lie and lose their souls like other Johnson acolytes...

Truss on the other hand is a natural, she was pro remain now pro Brexit, is able to spout crap which entirely matches Daily Mail headlines and loves the trappings of office and the luxuries that brings, witness her recent extravagance re her recent taxpayer funded expensive lunch at a Tory donors restaurant and her insistence on a government jet for a trip to Australia. She likes to talk down British workers as lazy and unproductive while living the high life in office, so Truss for Johnson would be a seamless like for like.

Not a natural born liar, but a Goldman Sachs implant parachuted into the Conservative party to ensure they make the right decisions for global markets. (not U.K. citizens)

If Sunak becomes PM then expect a full on return to Osborne style Conservatism , and even though he may not use the word austerity, austerity is what we’ll get.

This morning it is being reported that Cressida Dick, the incompetent Met commissioner is dictating what details can be included

From what I saw, the Met has only asked that the report makes "minimal reference" to any matters related to the Met investigation(s), in order to avoid prejudicing their work. That seems fair to me.

Feels like we're circling back to the Gray report arriving in two parts - part 1 being anything the Met have decided not to touch, plus the "minimal references" to the matters the Met has picked up. And then a second (maybe not needed, given the Met itself will provide the answers) once the Met investigation is done.

Certainly hope you are right although I struggle to see what rules that were broken would lead to a criminal conviction, or it could be another way of kicking the ball into the long grass as is the standard Boris fall back preference.

Yes, that Brexit plan and the success of its implementation. If it was all so obvious and easy, why are the likes of PPF still ranting on about illegal immigrants (in the pit)? Mind you, at the same time, they are still backing Johnson.

It's pitiful really, the level of dimness of some of our electorate.

"Quick, I need more time to think of distractions! - Cress, babe, do me a solid and get involved will you?"
"Sorry Bozza, I've got 3 protesters having a seance on Bond Street that I need to arrest"
"Excuse me? Who keeps you in a job?"
"On it boss"

If only we were all as bright and enlightened as you, then the world would indeed be a better place.

I feel this has been covered before, the continued mantra of 'if you vote this, you're thick' has proven not to be the approach in order to achieve success. You stick with it.

Remember, the crippling lorry lines at Dover are nothing to do with Brexit. Neither are the massive cost of living increases. Or the complete inability to FIX OUR IMMAGRASHUN now we have no agreement to return refugees. Etc etc etc. Why? Brexit is "done" mate. Completed it

The MP who claimed that Boris had been "ambushed with cake" now claims there was no cake and that a party without cake is a meeting.

If you listen closely, you can hear Armando Iannucci collecting his shotgun and marching behind the woodshed with satire on its lead.

Bit of both is likely. The Report will come out, but with the main things reduced to a 'minimal reference' as requested by the Met. Then Johnson will be able to claim that the report raises no serious issues (because they've all been removed for the Police to deal with). The the Police investigation will dwindle away, and they don't have a duty to explain why charges and so on haven't been brought. And Johnson will then claim that as no serious issues as well. It would be difficult for a second part of the report on those instances to be then published, as Johnson will say 'all dealt with by the Police, no need for such a report'.

So the actual list of folk at these parties will never be disclosed, Johnson's name won't be published....

Unlike you, I don't spend my life perpetually campaigning for a party. It was merely an observation.

As for your first comment, yes, for a change, you're probably right

Edit: and I see your new pal agrees with you. It definitely must be love :lolol:
