They weren't turn off, the damage has been done.

Look back over the timeline and you will see these "little stories" always open the door for something more serious.

They are all nothingness stories. Nothing has been proven. If Sue White finds that there were breaches then these were simple honest mistakes. If they weren't simple honest mistakes, Johnson has already apologised. The electorate are not interested.

I supect there are tens of thousands of people who observed the rules, not visiting loved ones who, nevertheless died, alone, of Covid, who still feel that Johnson has a very difficult job and made decisions to share cakes and an occasional glass of wine with senior colleagues in good faith, while dealing brilliantly with the challenges of Brexit and the pandemic.

It's all lost it's momentum again, hasn't it. People just accepted it and forgotten in less than a fortnight. Sigh.

This might genuinely do for the mop topped lothario. They’re furiously pushing the narrative that it was a 10 minute work gathering.

Problem for the PM here is that this one potentially puts him in the room and with no means of denying he knew he was at a party. The presence of his (presumably blind) decorator also belies any suggestion of this being a work event.

Stonewall party. Let him deny it for a day or two and then hopefully somebody drops the photos.

I can almost feel the back benchers bristling.

I’d imagined the Tories would keep him until the autumn and let him absorb the springtime price crunch. Now they run the risk of being collectively damned if they continue to defend the indefensible so they might have to bite the bullet and let a new leader deal with that far sooner. If so, expect the April National Insurance rise get dropped to great fanfare.

I try to be open minded and peaceable but I simply loathe this shower. I want the entire lot gone but right now I would take absolutely anybody else at the helm just to see the back of Johnson. I have almost Mike Dean levels of disdain for him.

What a sham. Investigating your boss and then letting your boss decide what can be published, whether he has done wrong, and what punishment he’d like to receive.
