I hate that live football matches on TV cannot be shown at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, meaning we have to go to Southampton on a Sunday Evening or Colchester on a Monday night

15th October 2005 was the last time "The Big Four" have all kicked off at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon

I hate it that football matches get called off these days because "the area around the ground isn't safe for fans".

Er...so it's OK for people to go to the Trafford Centre, or Bluewater, or the London Eye or Chessington World of Adventures in the snow if they like, but get anywhere near a football stadium and it's just WAY too unsafe to trust football fans with :tosser:

I hate H&S in football, nanny state bollocks.

The fact that I can't make up my own mind whether to sit or stand a football matches, even when the evidence from all over the sporting world proves that "all seater" stadiums are not necessary.

The fact that matches were postponed last week because of snow in the vicintiy of football grounds migh be dangerous for people attending the game, FFS, we can f***ing look after ourselves, f*** off will you.

The fact that football has been sanitised, I hate it when people say we don't want to go back to the old days. Yes I f***ing do, I want to turn up on a Saturday, pay a reasonable amount at a turnstile, watch a game standing with a group of people who don't get offended by bad language, who can manage a bit of bad weather, who get behind their team.

I am minded of the parody of the Chelsea song

'Carefree wherever you may be
we are the nouveau CFC
please sit down so my wife can see
I've been coming here since 2003'

f*** off, and give us back our football.

I hate it when cameras cut away from a fat Geordie crying... that's what we bloody want to see

:lolol:

I hate that 3pm on a Saturday means nothing anymore

I hate that fans are segregted at matches

I hate being charged more to sit down at games despite not having the choice

I hate all-seater Stadia

I hate the word 'Stadia' - it's STADIUMS.

I hate ticketing 'Loyalty Schemes' that force fans to justify why they should be sold something

I hate that when you say you support Brighton people always ask if you have another team as well

I hate the concept of Season Ticket Holders = Better Fan - never heard that at the Goldstone

I hate that Britain have World Champions in SO many sports that get ignored for Wolves vs Portsmouth.

I hate that so called expert analysts (and fans) don't know the current laws of the game and so frequently criticise correct decisions and talk about refereeing being bad without actually understanding the decisions are right.

I hate that they seem to think they have a right to judge refs despite never being one, on the basis that refs have never played the game so don't know what it's like.

I hate that so called experts say they don't understand why the off side rule was changed, it was fine as it was 20 years ago, when it was changed because it wasn't fine 20 years ago, and is a rule that will never be perfect.

I hate that so many acts of rule breaking are dismissed as professionalism.

Exactly, maybe it's because they're worried about being sued. FFS, do I sue Marks & Spencer if I spin my car on ice while on the way to pick up some shopping? No, so why would I sue the Albion if I did the same en route to a game against Colchester?

Absolutely useless logic.

I hate that "no team is too good to go down" yet for liverpool not to be coasting in the top four is an injustice and that they should be up there, they should be signing big name stars, they should be winnning week in week out.

I hate when big clubs get relegated and commentators declare that "Nobody wants to see a club like Leeds/Newcastle/Sheffield Wednesday/Man City" in trouble like this. YES WE DO! Apart from the fans of those clubs, everyone LOVES it when a "big" club falls down through the leagues. How much more entertaining is League One with the gloomy and deluded fans of Leeds, Charlton, Norwich and Southampton in it, still clinging on to their lost status?

I hate how people blame refs for one instance in a 90 min game instead of players or managers.

I hate how refs get the blame when it's the law itself that is the problem.

I hate how some fans feel they are more deserving of a ticket for a big match.

It does to me

I hate ticketing 'Loyalty Schemes' that force fans to justify why they should be sold something

If football hadn't been mucked around with so much over the past 20 years, perhaps there wouldn't be so much demand from "part time fans" and the real fans wouldn't have cause for complaint when their team draws a top flight side in the cup.

I hate that when you say you support Brighton people always ask if you have another team as well

Spot on, tell them to do one, or tell them your other team is AFC Wimbledon, Or Worthing, or Lewes or [insert other local team name].

I hate the concept of Season Ticket Holders = Better Fan - never heard that at the Goldstone

Not sure if I've ever heard that "concept", here or at the Goldstone.

I hate that clubs are massively in debt so that foreign businessmen can have a hobby for a bit.

I hate that no-one has EVER 'got their tits out for the lads'.

I hate away shirts - there should be 1 that's shared between ALL clubs and only used if absolutely necessary.

I hate being treated like a criminal by the police every time I go to a game

I also hate it when players take their shirts off after scoring. WHY? Do office workers all take your shirts off and run around the room when you get paid, or hit your bonus targets for the month, or make a sale? (would be quite cool if you did, by the way).

I really hate the way Sky have erased everything that happened in football before 1992, as though before that, there was just a great big, football-free black hole. I hate that legendary players who scored hundreds of goals over the years (Jimmy Greaves, Dixie Dean, Bobby Charlton and so on) have been erased from history simply because someone like Les Ferdinand scored 140 after the advent of the Premier League. And that teams' successes are measured in Premier League titles as opposed to top flight titles (by which measure Liverpool have never won the league...oh, so not all bad then).
i dont think sky have tried to erase everything before 1992, its probably that they dont own the rights to show any of this pre 1992 stuff.

But..we should, imagine if your lot whipped off the old stab vest and pulled your shirts over your head and ran down the road, kissing your police badges, whilst punching the air shouting YEEEESSSS!! everytime a DD blew positive on the alcometer or you found a load of PS3 games down some kids kecks.

For added effect you could point at your epaulette numbers in a "remember this" way whilst nodding in a self important manner as you jogged past the arrestee.

Life would be just fine if you celebrated small achievements in such a fashion.

No. I just think they get a lot of undeserved flack from people who don't know what they're talking about (often despite being paid handsomely for their opinion), or get blamed because no one wants to criticise players/managers etc.

Yes and yes. In what way is that being treated like a criminal? I have found it reassuring in the past, the police protecting you from the possible actions of local thugs who didn't discriminate between law abiding football fans and mindless hooligans. You saw that as being treated like a criminal? Seriously?

It is rare these days to be marched to the station, we almost certainly won't be on Saturday. I dare say there will be a small contingent of Albion fans, being watched by the Police because they have engaged in criminal activity in the past, they might get marched to the station in a small group. If you find yourself amongst them, then just walk away from them, let the Police do their job, stop interfearing, they are doing it to protect the rest of us.

BTW, walking to and from to the station in Southampton recently, there were a bunch of Albion fans who were marched there and back by the Police. All they did, all the way, was taunt the locals, chant offensivly, gesture at them, hurl foul mouthed insults at them, they were the ones being marched there and back. By their actions they were, to all intents and purposes trying to cause trouble, which is criminal activity. We just walked there and back, slightly embarrassed at the actions of that group, but the police at no time even gave us a second glance. The Police only treat you like a criminal if they have good reason to do so.
