I saw U2 at the Top Rank Suite, on the "War" tour. Early 1983 at a guess. What an outstanding year that was.
Saw the Psychedelic Furs there too.

Saw Leftfield there. People were literally running away from the stage it was that loud. Only time I can recall feeling me internal organs vibrate by sheer force of sound. Utterly classic gig! The following week Leftfield got banned from Brixton Academy cos the sheer volume was shaking the plaster off the ceiling

Did you ever go to the 101 club in West Street? Opened in '64.

saw the Faces at the 101 in west st, a health and safety nightmare, rammed to the rafters, used to watch King Jerry at the Florida rooms, he now has a Soul night at the dog stadium on fridays.

Couldn't help but note your Horsham Crusaders avator - was this the same outfit that in the late seventies and early eighties had Worsley (or similar spelling) running them? As I recal he spent very little time at a number of schools and spent far too much time on shower inspections, allegedly. Also innappropriate massages after football injuries, allegedly.

Seem to recal he was hurried out of the Collyers grammer school only to reappear at Forest Boys before leaving there fairly sharpish.

She was rather clingy and I regretted getting off with her almost immediately. She did have maHOOsive bangers though.

Saw some bands at TTRS, namely Buzzcocks, Martha and the Muffins and a Sham 69 gig where their stage gear and instruments were nicked at the end

Random West St. memory: Having a burn up with another boy racer UP West St., with me overtaking him on the wrong side of the road, possibly a tad over the speed limit (do we have a statute of limitations?)
