American version of Top Gear to be launched by BBC America and History Channel. Top Gear has a big US following but their record of producing American versions of hit TV series aint that good – I’ll give it a look but not exactly holding my breath.

You might well be right but there is so much absolute shite on TV on a Sunday that it remains one of the highlights of the evening if you are watching tv. I did quite enjoy the camper van episode but am staggered Clarkson was able to get away with taking that high rise Citroen on public roads.

Do you notice they ALWAYS put the decent totty right at the front of the audience for the "news" bit and the star in the reasonably priced car interview ?

Admittedly its usually a somewhat mixed bunch, but I have seen the odd bit of quality clunge in there sometimes.
