Well, from what I've just seen at half time in Citeh game, there is absolutely no chance I will ever watch again.

Hitting golf balls at a convertible car being driven by someone in a dinosaur costume. What a sad sack of cack and a total insult to anyone's intelligence.

What's wrong with any of that? It sounds just like Top Gear, except without the tedious bully gammon, Clarkson.

A good episode, I thought.

I still think they should ditch some of the Clarkson era baggage. For example, when they arrived for the challenge one after the other and jeered at each other’s car choices. Flintoff’s amateurish acting gave away how contrived that is.

Also calling each other by surname, the jittering editing and camerawork during the car porn shots, and the way the camera swoops down from on high when they return to the studio.

A couple of things I found odd was having a studio audience when 90% of the show is prerecorded and not showing the Stig’s lap, instead directing viewers to the website to see it.

But the challenge was quite amusing, especially the causeway. But did they actually announce who won at the end? And the bungee plummet finale was both funny and tense.

And I know I have a mental age of 12 at most, but I did find the dinosaur versus golf balls bit funny in an It’s A Knockout way.

Yes. Show the lap for crying out loud. Not having it reduces any tension in where they are placing it. Not quite sure how the atom finished down there. Can't just be the cold weather

Thought it was pretty good to be fair. Hitting golf balls at Harris in a dinosaur costume was very funny and the car bungee at the end was quite something.

I always found the car doing a lap quite dull. no chance of a crash (if they did it would be shown anyway) and once you see one fast car doing it your seen them all. I liked the Atom feature and the camera work was superb so for me this was a good segment.

I like these presenters - they have gelled well and like a laugh. I think paddy is a huge nob and said to the wife that I wouldnt watch it cos of him. While I still think he is a nob I have enjoyed it and now its back to being a must watch show, when previously the clarkson era was tired and the Leblanc era was painful.

they could ditch the live audience though - dont see what they add

I was saying the same just this weekend. Every week they have someone having fun (normally Harris now) driving some super fast car super fast with grins “whoooaas” and screams. It may be fun for them but it’s not for me because it’s basically the same every week. I felt the same about the Atom too tbh

The programme is watchable if you like cars, but it is a tired old formula now.

I prefer Salvage Hunters classic cars personally, as I think they have a really good mix of cars and it’s interesting to see them being bought, done up and sold. Maybe it’s because I like most of the cars they pick and have owned some of the cars. Others I would have liked to own makes it good viewing to me, Top Gear is actually even more childish than it was imo.

No doubt just me, but I found the golf ball element boring. And if you're going from Bognor Regis to the Essex coast why do you divert to Thruxton which is north of Salisbury and totally out of the way.

I did however find the car bungee jump riveting.

Newmarket.
It's not a patch on the original but it's worth a watch if nothing else is on.
I noticed last night that Chris Harris seemed to find everything hilarious.

Has anyone watched Seamen, Grand Tour on Amazon Prime, excellent. Doesn't matter who they put on Top Gear, not the same for me.

I like The Grand Tour and new Top Gear.

Never watched Grand Tour but Top Gear now really is back on form in my view, the current three gel very well and actually Harris playing the buffoon works very well.

The Grand Tour is OK, nothing more. It started off better as clearly did all the ideas the BBC couldn't do, but it went downhill quite quickly.

Another good reason why I don't watch TV. Better than accidentally catching 1s of Mrs Browns boys flicking through channels though.
