I know these threads have been done and done but i want to know if any of the latest films get on your list and I need to decide on a film to watch tonight.

1) Blood Diamond
2) Shawshank Redemption
3) Platoon
4) Catch me if you can
5) Inception

I really enjoyed Argo, but it wouldn't make a top 5, top 20 maybe, at a push.

Shawshank is just TOO good. A long watch but easily in my top 5, no questions asked.

The Prestige
The Shawshank Redemption

I always struggle, it depends on my mood, but the two above are always in there, plus any three from:

Clue
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Blues Brothers
His Girl Friday
Das Boot
Fritz Lang's M
Chris Nolan's Batman series
Lord of the Rings
(Marvel) Avengers
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Still Crazy
Top Secret
Airplane
The Usual Suspects
The Little Mermaid
I'm Gonna Git You Sucka
Silence of the Hams

And of course:
Hook.

Willingdon
Ferris buellers day off
Goodfellas
Kevin and perry go large
Godfather trilogy
Love actually/notting hill

I know it's more than 5 and a couple are a bit girly but I do like a feel good film when having a bad day.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
If i were forced to name then i would go for from the top of my head
The Bicycle Thieves
The Third Man
12 Angry Men
The Wages of Fear
Hard Boiled
and a sneaky 6th in A Separation

and in more recent years Las Acacias, Drive, Blue Valentine, Sideways, Black Swan, Half Nelson, A Prophet, Beyond the Hills and for pure fisticuffs The Raid.

12 Angry Men! I knew I was forgetting some. That would be on my list of candidates, along with The Elephant Man.

For me top 5 is

The Departed
Training Day
Ray
Anchorman
Gladiator

I have a feeling that when Flight comes out in February, that might just sneak in somewhere - looks AMAZING.

Seeing 2 Angry Men getting a mention, instantly reminded me of Fail-Safe.

The Sidney Lumet film with Henry Fonda & Walter Matthau.

Now there's a bloody good film.
