Top 9 here, can't argue with Back to Black but are Radiohead really that good to have 2 of the best 3 albums of the last 10 years ????

Personally wouldn't have that White Stripes album or Robert Plant anywhere near my top 10 of the decade either

I have never heard the Britney album but am more than a little shocked to see it there...

The Robert Plant/Alison Krauss album is definitely high in my Top 10. Played it regulary since release, it's quite brilliant. Great song choices, excellent production and wonderful guitar playing by T-Bone Burnett with some really varied rhythms. Give yourself a treat. Take some quiet time and give it another listen. You won't be disappointed. It was so good, Planty even got Beard of he Year!

can't open it but no doubt it's totally UKcentric and like any top whatever number completely subjective......
That's sound really old and inflexible on reflection, dosen't it.
Any LCD Soundsystem or Morrissey in there then?

Any LCD Soundsystem ... in there then?

His first album is no.21.

It's not so much a UK-centric list as a very conservative one, with a couple of f*** Buttons and Holy f*** albums thrown into the very low echelons to try and make out it's not.

I admit to only giving it one cursory listening. I love country rock and found it very similar to a load of other stuff I already have, maybe I should give it another go as imo all my favourite albums that remain enjoyable to listen to for years tend to take a few listenings. I'm willing toi admit (hope) i was a bit hasty in dismissing it...

You shopuld go to the NME's daily downlaods and grab Mountain Song by Treetop Flyers - it's very CSN&Y, I'm thinking you'll like it.....

Very subjective and IMHO, bollox of the highest order. Radiohead is great music if you feel like slashing your wrists. The rest are not to my taste either and somehow I doubt that I'm alone in that view.

The choice of Kid A is surely someone trying to be a bit leftfield. I liek Kid A, but it's not even the best Radiohead album this decade

It's a bit,er Western. As far as I can see, there are only two non-European/north American acts on it: Amadou and Mariam (which I think is pretty MOR) and Tinariwen. I thought this was the decade where we embraced global sounds?

Blimey, dreadful list - and I think Radiohead are brilliant. Kid A was fine enough, but nowhere near the best album of the decade. Robert Plant/Alison Kraus, pleasant listening, but nothing more. And, as others have noted, terribly Anglocentric.

How about, in no particular order
- Gypsy Punks Underworld Dog Strike - Gogol Bordello
- Dimanche a Bamako - Amadou and Mariam
- The Delivery Man - Elvis Costello
- The Fleet Foxes - The Fleet Foxes
- The Good, The Bad and The Queen- The Good The Bad and The Queen
- Fever Ray - Fever Ray
- Return To Cookie Mountain - TV On The Radio
- Rockferry - Duffy
- St Elsewhere - Gnarls Barkley

I think that there is a link on the original Times page to the top World Music, which may explain why it's not included in this heap of quite a lot of shite

Edit, yes it's here and they could only be arsed to do the Top 10. Any of your favourites in there, I'm doubting there will be :lolol:
