For history and architecture the Olmpiastadion in Berlin takes some beating.

The Allianz is a great concept in a sharing stadium with it easily being able to change it's identity. Amazing.

I was about to mention the Allianz...

...does anyone else think that an exact replica of the Allianz would solve all of |Liverpool and Everton's problems? The fans are just too proud to admit it!

Looking at the Allianz, surely it must have the same problems that the new Wembley has with not enough light getting on to the pitch to keep the grass healthy?!?!

Work on Valencia's stadium hasn't progressed for about the last 2 years because of the club's debt. Which is a shame, because the plans look amazing. Similarly, it now looks unlikely that Norman Foster's refit of Camp Nou will happen.

Somewhere "in Lyme Regis", crodo is kicking himself that he didn't beat you to this post. He could still mention the New Den and what a wonderful improvement on their old stadium it is.

despite the fact it was conveniently branded as shit when england were fighting for the right to host the world cup, i really liked the luhzniki stadium. it had that histroic but modern feel and, despite having a huge running track around it, the atmosphere was superb

honourable mentions for the allianz, camp nou, wembley, emirates, old trafford and anfield

Probably not welcome here anymore but hey-ho... just popped on to find out any news on Bennett from your side and saw this thread...

Cannot believe nobody has mentioned the Velodrome for atmosphere! Once stand bounces non-stop and they make a good noise. Might not be the prettiest but I think it is up there.

My Ten:

Velodrome - Atmosphere and the 3 open stands look cool..
Mercedes-Benz Arena - Stuttgart Stadium, looks quite smart..
Veltins Arena - Schalke, the pitch moves into the stadium from outside and the screens are on a big cube above the players! How cool??
Croke Park - Ireland's new national stadium and I like it!
Türk Telekom Arena - Galatasaray (sp) stadium which I like

Ones I have been to:

Reliant Stadium - Houston (ok not a Football stadium in our country but it was fantastic!)
Millenium Stadium - 72,500 fans, mix of Birmingham and Norwich for play-off final (which we lost on pens) best atmoshphere I have come across with the roof closed
Anfield - The Kop is ridiculously loud on an important night!
Celtic Park - Not the best but the atmosphere was incredible!
Amsterdam Arena - Played on the pitch with a crowd of 200 lol and would not want to play there when it is full! Very scary as it is all closer than you would imagine!

Sorry to join in your forum, ours is dull at the moment, full of people 'in the know' about signings etc... all gets very dull indeed...

It is difficult to argue with 'NorwichFan's' suggestion of the New Lansdown Road/Aviva Stadium. I always thought Croke Park was good too.

Another vote for Porto's ground, partly because it would be exactly the design I would want for us WHEN we are playing regular Champions League football in 10 years time with the ultra stylish Inigo Calderon at the helm as manager.

Can't believe its IS. It was pretty dull when we went there a couple of monmths ago, especialy compared to the Dell. and that was hardly rock-'n' roll (in footballing terms)

Psssssssssst!

I THINK they're having a little joke at SCC's expense.

I second that- La Bombonera (The Chocolate Box) is awesome in terms of atmosphere. The singing is constant and loud!

I've sat in with the away fans there too. Couldn't see the first 10 minutes of the game because they draped banners and flags over the whole stand.

For atmosphere it has to be the best one, I've never witnessed an atmosphere close to that anywhere else in the world. But the actual stadium itself is nothing special really. Absolutely mental atmosphere though, would love to go again.
