I went to the dentist this lunchtime for what was supposed to be a routine filling, but after the tooth crumbled under the dentist's drill, ended up having over an hour of major root canal work done.

For those that dont know, this involves screwing large spiral wires deep up into your upper jaw to remove the infection and old dead nerve endings, etc, etc.

It smarted a tad, but hey, nothing that half a bottle of cognac tonight hasnt yet numbed ...

Fill your mouth with full strength spirit, whisky is good. Hold it in your mouth for as long as you can and then either swallow or spit out. It has a numbing and disinfectant effect. Won't cure the underlying problem but may relieve the pain.

Had that issue about a month ago. went for the mix of clove oil, bongela (sp), propain and lots or whisky!
worked a treat

Propain, dont you mean Propane (gas), ignite it and voila toothache has gone along with half of your face.
