I had multiple dental issues a few years back and inquired about having them all out and a full set of implants, was quoted £35K. Didn't get it done. Dare say this has risen since. Had 3 teeth crowned and a couple removed, the crowns are the best teeth I have.
If money was no object I would definitely have it done.

Questions to ask after good research but do not be impressed with flashy web sites

1. How qualified are the people doing it - oral surgeons or dentists who have been on a course?
2. How many do they place a year and what is their integration rate - respectable surgeons will audit this and be able to tell you
3. What system do they use - proper brand or copy from Eastern Europe top brands are branemark, ankylos, straumen. Make sure they do not say style eg branemark style - this means copy from somewhere God for forsaken.
4. Ge a full examination done. If you have gum disease this MUST be sorted first. Be wary of anyone willing to put an implant in you with active disease.
5. If it does not integrate what come back do you have
6 what follow up do they do - if none or no annual reviews offered avoid. If an implant starts to fail it must be acted on quick. With no follow up this will be missed.
7. Do not go abroad because it is cheaper - no come back no follow up and expensive in time and money to put right if you are the unlucky one where it does not work. If done over here you will always have a point of contact.
8. See a hygienist once a year at the very least once it is done - consider it mandatory. Poor hygiene even if you brush well is the main implant killer. Hygienist help prevent this.

Good luck.

I have had three implants - the first over 4 years ago at the Brighton Implant Clinic. They have several surgeries - I went to Church Road Hove.
Very satisfied - no problems since - and two were complicated - one a sinus lift and one artificial bone. No issues with the fit (just as normal tooth).
I know of three others who have been and were similarly satisfied. Used to be £1000 for a straightforward implant. They give you a no obligation appointment - and I know of two people who were told that the procedure was not suitable for them - so they are prepared to say no which I think is important!

This is from my tooth and botox man, yes im vain! lol. Highly recommended and happy to put you in touch

So they need to make sure they have enough height and width of bone to allow the implant to integrate and be stable. If not they may need a graft. Looking at roughly 2000 for a single tooth depending on who they go to, they might want something in place as a temporary either a bridge or a denture to allow them to smile. Make sure the dentist is experienced in implants or if not then make sure there is somebody in the practice who can observe or act as a mentor!

Hey Driller - many thanks for that.
I had my consultation with "perfect profiles" last night. Their Wolverhampton practice is only half an hour from me.
They have 3 oral surgeons and the practice only does implants [not your typical dentistry work].
I've checked the 3 surgeons are all on the BDA register.
2 are Hungarian, one specialising is implants only and typically does between 30-40 per week - was trained in Hungary but has been working in UK doing this for 2 years.
The other Hungarian specialises in the crown make & fit.
They talked me through the full process starting with impressions, removal of 3 teeth and fitting temp denture.
Leave this for 3 months to allow gums and bone to settle before inserting implants - they have an on-site CT scanner for 3-D imaging prior to implant insertion.
Will then place 3 implants and leave these for 4-6 months to allow full bond with bone and settlement.
Then crown fitting.
The full plan, including, impressions, denture, extraction, scale & polish, 3 x implants, aftercare pack, imaging package and 3 x crowns has been quoted as £3,462 and likely to take 12 months.
He explained that with my type 1 diabetes and current periodontal disease there are no guarantees that implants will be possible, even with bone graft - he estimated this risk at 5%
They told me they wanted me back every 6 months after completion for follow-up check-ups.
I'm already seeing a hygienist every 3 months and have excellent hygiene above the gum-line
I will ask them what system do they use - proper brand or copy from Eastern Europe top brands are branemark, ankylos, straumen [are these the manufacturers?] and PM you for feedback.

Thanks again.
