This window is obviously mad but it doesn't change my opinion that our gamble on players coming back from injury instead of reinforcing backfired. Hopefully this season puts that right and we get another chance at Europe.
Wasn’t a gamble imo, more a calculated risk. Reinforcing in January would have been stupidly expensive and we wouldn’t have signed those we’re signing now (that fit our profile).

Bloom must have known his summer budget.
And why would he have kept it a secret from RDZ, if he wanted RDZ to stay?
Maybe RDZ thought the budget wasn’t big enough?
Or Bloom played it down as he didn’t really want RDZ to stay?
Your last suggestion I reckon, RDZ burnt his bridges acting like a cock and constantly referencing us as a small club. Hell, he even said Moises and Ali Mac deserved to play for a bigger club, which was to me, the first sign that he thought he was better than us too.

My thoughts on all of these new players.
With a new manager comes new tactics and playing style. It would seem the days of heart attacks and playing out from the back are gone. And that means new players. But PBOBE and the recruitment team say we've been watching the new players for some time?
So for how long have the club known about new style of play? That would mean TB knew RDZ was leaving a lot sooner than we were told.

I reckon TB already had enough in January - with the deal sealed in Rome. Interesting that Fabien was watching us over Christmas as well of course 😉

I like his demeanour…………he’s also 100% ‘on message’. Press are going to get **** all out of him
He looked like someone who had been told a lot of secrets but sworn to secrecy.

RDZ must be thinking WTF
This is kinda true isn't it? Although I'm delighted with all the pre-season transfer activity, I do wonder if we could have done some business in January to give RDZ the help he needed.

Do you think it was any coincidence that Fab was at the Spurs game at Christmas??

That's because you think in timescales of one season, where as Bloom thinks in timescales of 5-10.

Imagine what RDZ could have achieved with us if he hadn't been such a dick. If he'd have just accepted that Bloom knew best on the transfer strategy, and he knew best on the football strategy, we could be having a real crack at getting into the Champions League now. Instead he's ended up signing (alleged) rapists at a club far below the level he thought he was going to be at, with no genuine prospects of a big job any time soon. He would have been far, far better off here.

It’s really interesting to ponder, isn’t it? I wonder what he does make of it.
Maybe he doesn't know much about it - a bit like what he said about Mason Greenwood?

To the OP, totally agree. But not let's forget Barber and David Weir for their roles in all of this (and others). It might be 'Tony's' money and final decision, but a good boss is only as good as the people around him, no?

Up and coming bright young Coach comes to watch random Premier League game at a mid-size club a couple of days after Christmas. What do you think?

Despite all the signings and returning players, Europe is still a push for me with a new manager, may take a little time to get up and running.
