That TB tilt at the Melbourne Cup looks a lifetime away now. Horses gone completely to pot now.
They’ll become well handicapped again, hopefully in a bunch. It goes like this sometimes.

For sure, but last few I've seen have run like absolute pigs and have never troubled the midfield let alone the judges. Really don't believe that's part of some grand strategy. They just look like poor horses. Unless of course that's part of some grand strategy.. . :moo:

TB isn’t sentimental, he’ll know which ones to keep going. He doesn’t strike me as the type of owner who just turns up to cheer them on, he’ll be involved and informed.

Whoa! Wait a minute. Hold Tony's horses!

Have we ever had an equine owner's thread before? Is this a first?

Wow was it really a year ago that Withhold won the plate. Great ride from Winston, the others never got a look in!
Also gave Stratum a good ride at Newbury but a bit of a stinker at York...

Both near the front of the betting at 9’s and 12’s respectively and would fancy either on that form...

Just noticed that Withhold won the plate first time out last season and as THPP says, his horses have been a bit below par this year, June and July is his time.. I’ve talked myself into backing these two in the time that it’s taken to type this post! Think I’ll wait for NRNB before playing though...

Both Withhold and Stratum declared for the plate.
Stratum backed into 8/1 second favourite and Withhold not far behind at 10’s, with local lad and champion apprentice Jason Watson booked to ride... NRNB now so time to have a dabble :rave:

Anyone else playing on Stratum today?
6/1 second fav now only half a point behind the favourite. They were 7/2 and 14/1 respectively only 4 days ago! Tony must be playing, expect a new striker to be announced next week if Stratum wins :albion2:
